Chapter 2257

The night passed and morning came.

At East Hill Apartments, Liberty held Sonny’s bag as she walked to the door. She urged him, “Quick,

Sonny. You’re going to be late.”

Sonny was dawdling. He took his shoes from his room, sat on the sofa, and put them on slowly.

“Can I not go to preschool today, Mom?”

Before preschool started, Sonny had always thought going to preschool was fun.

He had so much fun on registration day that he did not want to go home. He even cried when Liberty

wanted to take him home.novelbin

However, after some time, Sonny felt being at home was much more satisfying.

If his Mom could not look after him, he could go to Aunt Ser’s place, Uncle Zak’s office, or Grandaunt

Audrey’s home.

All of those options were better than going to preschool.

Most importantly, Sonny needed to wake up early every day to attend school. He could no longer sleep

in as he did in the past.

As Mom had to head to work, she would take him to preschool early in the morning. He was always the

first to arrive among his classmates.

“You’re not sick. Why shouldn’t you go?” Liberty turned to ask after unlocking the door.

Before Sonny could speak, she continued, “Didn’t you want to be better than Laurence? Laurence

doesn’t complain about not wanting to go to preschool like you.”

Sonny kept quiet.

Liberty walked and sat in front of him.

She did not put on his shows for him. She would never help him to do anything he could accomplish

himself. She wanted her child to be independent.

“Sonny, tell me why you don’t want to go. Is a classmate bullying you? How do your teachers treat

you?”

Sonny shook his head. “The children are nice. No one’s bullying me, and I won’t bully others. How can I

bully others when I’m learning martial arts? The teachers treat me well too.”

He was not as good as Laurence in martial arts, but Mom and Aunt Ser had sent him to martial arts

lessons to strengthen his body and protect himself. They did not expect him to be a master at it.

After training for some time, Sonny could defeat his classmates in a fight.

No one could bully him in preschool.

Besides, he had a strong backing. Who would dare to bully him?

With Sonny’s personality, he was not one to pick a fight with others either.

“Then why don’t you want to go to preschool?”

Sonny pouted. “I have to wake up early every day to go to school. I can’t sleep in or go to places with

you or Aunt Ser. I want to sleep more and follow you two around.”

Liberty poked his forehead. “I knew you were just playful. Why didn’t you sleep in during the weekends

but woke up early in the morning instead?”

She added sternly, “I’m busy, and so is Aunt Ser. By going to preschool, you can gain knowledge and

lighten my burden. Sonny, you should persist till the end when you’re doing something. You shouldn’t

do anything half-heartedly or give up halfway.”

Sonny put on his shoes. Upon hearing Liberty’s words, he raised his head and looked at her.

His mom had a serious expression.

He knew it was not right to keep refusing to go to preschool. Therefore, he leaped into Liberty’s

embrace and hugged her neck.

“I was wrong, Mom. I’ll go to school and not do things half-heartedly. Don’t be angry.

“I also want to make things easier for you, Mom.”
