Serenity had been married to Zachary for a year. Although she knew that he was the eldest young
master of the richest family in the city and that her in-laws were also very wealthy, everyone had

Zachary asked indulgently, “What do you want to eat now? I’ll go downstairs and make it for you.”
“I want some spicy fries, with lots of sauerkraut.”
Zachary was silent.
“There might not be spicy fries at home.”
Serenity sat up straight and said to him with shining eyes, “Babe, why don’t we go back to the city now
and visit the night market? Let’s get a midnight snack.”
Zachary looked at the time and said, “If we go back to the city, we’ll have to spend the night there.”
“I want to stay at Brynfield tonight.”
Zachary smiled and kissed her. “I had the same idea. Sure, if you want to go back to the city to eat
spicy fries, I’ll take you there.”
Josh told him that this was how pregnant women were. When they had a craving, they would want to
eat it immediately.
Furthermore, the appetite of pregnant women would change, but he had to satisfy her no matter what
she wanted to eat.

The car drove out of Wildridge Manor.
Serenity turned to look at the villa behind them and said to her husband with a smile, “It feels like we’re
thieves.”
“We’ll definitely be lectured if they discover that I took you back to the city at this hour. We have no
choice but to sneak around.”
Zachary did not even bring his bodyguards.
It was just the husband and wife.
He drove.
“Are you afraid of being lectured?” Serenity teased him.
Ever since she found out that he was the young master of the York family, she saw how everyone
always listened to him and respected him. No one except for Grandma May dared to run their mouths
in front of him, and no one dared to control him.
Even his parents were polite to him and looked like they were trying to please him.
She thought he was not afraid of anyone except Grandma May.
“Of course I’m afraid. They usually spoil me, but they won’t spoil me now.”
Zachary freed up a hand and held Serenity’s hand. “Honey, you’re our family’s treasure now.
“In the future, you have to take care of me and protect me.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll protect you.”
Serenity thought of how her best friend was treated at her in-law’s place and quickly said, “Babe, I’m in
good health, so I’ll continue working. You can’t stop me from doing this and that like what Mr. Bucham
is doing to Jasmine. I’ll die of boredom.”
