Chapter 2170

Audrey called her eldest son when Liberty sent Caroline out. When Clive answered the phone, she

instructed, “Caroline came for a visit. Get someone to keep a lookout. After she leaves Wiltspoon,

erase any trace that she came here.

Clive did not ask his mother for her reasoning and responded, “Got it, Mom.”

“Finish up work and come back early to keep Alice company.”

“Okay.”

Audrey hung up the phone.

Serenity had no idea that Caroline visited nor what she said and did at the Stones’ residence.

She was the most beloved person in Wildridge Manor now.

It was not until nine at night when she returned to Zachary and her room that Zachary had the chance

to cling to her.

“Babe.”

Zachary returned to their room before she did.

Upon their return and after the others heard that Serenity was pregnant, she was surrounded and

coddled by her in-laws. Zachary had no place in it at all. Even if he sat beside Serenity, he would be

pulled aside by his elders.

Thus, after that happened several times, he reluctantly went back to his room to wait for his wife.

He welcomed her when he heard the door open.

As soon as Serenity came in, he took his beloved wife into his arms.

Her warm and soft body filled his embrace, and he wrapped his arms around her, sighing, “My wife is

finally back in my arms.

“I also have credit for getting you pregnant, but my mom and the others drove me away.”

Zachary’s words sounded aggrieved.

Serenity nestled in his arms and laughed when she heard his tone. “Don’t feel aggrieved. I also wanted

to slip away when the elders surrounded me. I can’t stand being surrounded by such enthusiasm.”

Zachary picked her up, walked into the bedroom, placed her on the large bed, and leaned over to kiss

her face. He said with a smile, “Just get used to it. Even Nana rushed back when she heard the news.

She said she wanted to move in with us to keep an eye on me.

“Speaking of which, why does she want to keep an eye on me? Shouldn’t she be keeping an eye on

you?”

Serenity grinned and pinched his handsome face, saying, “I’m the one who got pregnant, but you’re

getting muddle-headed before me. I’m in the first trimester, so it’s best we don’t share a room. Why do

you think Nana wants to keep an eye on you?”

She just got pregnant, but she had taken care of Liberty from her pregnancy till after childbirth. She

was much more experienced in pregnancy and childbirth than Zachary.

Zachary paused. “Right… I have to start abstaining now.”

He sat up straight as his handsome face fell. “That’s why I said it’s better to have a few years to

ourselves first before having a child.”

Although that was what he said, his large hand covered Serenity’s flat abdomen, and his eyes were

incredibly gentle and soft. “But I’m willing to abstain now that we have a baby. As long as you and the

baby are fine, I can bear it.”

Serenity blushed.

Zachary leaned down again, pushed up the clothes covering her belly, and pressed his face to his

wife’s abdomen. “Baby, I’m your daddy. We haven’t met yet, but Daddy is waiting for you to come outnovelbin

and meet me soon. Take care of yourself.”

“I just got pregnant, so the baby is still an embryo. It can’t hear what you’re saying.”

“Even if it can’t hear me, I still want to say it. We finally have our own baby. Seren, I’m so happy. I’m so

happy that I want to jump in joy.”

“There’s no one else in the room now. You can go ahead and jump if you want to. I promise I won’t tell

anyone.”

Zachary kissed her belly, pulled her clothes back down to cover her up, and sat upright, saying, “It’s

late now, so it’s better not to jump around. I’m afraid my mom will find out and scold me if she hears the

movement.

“Seren, from today onward, I’m not the family’s most beloved person anymore. You are. They’ll even

ignore me.

“I’d better be careful and hide myself and my happiness. If I jump around, my mom will definitely scold

me if she finds out.”

Serenity laughed at the thought of him being herded into a corner by the elders, not being able to get

close to her.

If he jumped around and made too much noise, he might really be scolded by her mother-in-law.
