Lilian and Tim entered as well. She took her son from Serenity’s arms and passed him to Tim. She
said, “Coax your baby boss quickly. He cries so much and is so loud that even the roof can shake from
his wailing.”
If Baby Oliver could think, he would have thought, ‘Do you think I have a lion’s roar?’
Tim started coaxing his son, who was in his arms.
The baby was hungry.
His father failed to coax him, so Oliver still ended up in his mother’s arms.
News that Serenity was pregnant did not spread. Only the Johnsons knew of it.
Zachary was anxious. He was also worried that someone would bump into Serenity as many people
were at the party.
He decided to bring her back to Wiltspoon right away.
Serenity did not want to leave that soon, but she had no choice but to agree, as she could not
persuade her husband.
Zachary told Ben and Jane apologetically, “Ben, Serenity has to rest because she’s pregnant. I want to
take her back to Wiltspoon first. We can meet up again when we have time. You’re welcome to visit us
in Wiltspoon too.”
Ben said understandingly, “Okay.”
Serenity was sad about leaving. She said, “You can bring the babies to Wiltspoon whenever you’re
free, Jane.”
“I will. Your wedding with Mr. York is coming up, right? Ben and I will definitely be there for your
wedding.”
Zachary and Serenity’s wedding was around the corner. It could even be brought forward again since
she was pregnant.
The wedding dress was custom-made.
Its measurements would be smaller because Serenity was not pregnant when it was ordered.
Zachary was worried the wedding dress would not fit Serenity if the wedding was not brought forward
and held on the original date since she had gotten pregnant.
He wanted to hastily bring Serenity back to Wiltspoon to let her have a good rest and inform his family
about the good news. Then, he would invite Aunt Audrey and Liberty over to discuss advancing the
wedding and choose another auspicious date.
“Okay. See you then.”
Before leaving, Serenity could not resist carrying Chloe again. She told Jane, “I hope I can give birth to
a daughter as adorable as Chloe.”
Jane smiled and said, “May your wishes come true.”
After kissing Chloe’s cheek, Serenity reluctantly left FC Manor with her husband.
They left the manor in a rush. Surprisingly, Callum arrived not long after they left.
Callum was there to look for Dr. Carden on behalf of his fiancée.
A few hours later at Wildridge Manor, Tania was flipping through a photo album while sitting on the sofa
in the luxurious hall of the main house. There were a few more albums besides the one in her hands on
the coffee table.
Her husband was reading a newspaper next to her.
“Liam, look how cute Zack was when he was young.”
Tania was looking through the old albums.
Since she had no grandchildren yet, she could satisfy her urges by looking at her sons’ pictures from
when they were young.
Liam glanced at the picture momentarily before his gaze returned to the newspaper. He said in disdain,
“Zack wasn’t cute at all when he was young. He kept a straight face and was as serious as an old man
even at that age. He didn’t even laugh whenever I teased him. Instead, he looked at me as if I was a
fool.”
Liam remembered many things about his eldest son’s younger days.
Tania was speechless.
Their eldest son’s personality had always been that way.
He was born with it.
“Zack didn’t like us when he was a kid either. He would only look for his gramps and nana when he
woke up. When he started preschool, he would ask where they were once he got home every day.
However, he never asked for his parents’ whereabouts.”
Liam continued complaining about his eldest son.
