Chapter 2024

“These are some fruits and supplements. They’re for Sonny’s dad to replenish his body.”

Liberty no longer addressed his ex-husband by his name and called him Sonny’s father, implying that

she only came to visit because Hank was Sonny’s father.

Without this connection, she would not want to enter Hank’s ward at all.

Mr. and Mrs. Brown were also aware that Liberty was only here for the sake of their grandson. At this

moment, they felt that it was right that Liberty was given Sonny’s custody in the past.

Sonny had always followed Liberty and Serenity. Giving his custody to Liberty had no impact on his life,

and Liberty could also give him the best education.

The main thing was the small home where Liberty lived did not have many quarrels and conflicts that

would affect Sonny’s young mind.

“Chelsea.”

Seeing that Chelsea was also present, Liberty politely greeted her ex-sister-in-law.

After her divorce, Liberty was polite with her former in-laws.

“Chelsea, have you recovered?” Liberty asked.

“I’m fine and have been discharged. I heard that Hank had woken up, so I rushed over with George to

see him, and thank God, he’s out of danger.”

Chelsea thanked God for that.

She asked Liberty to sit down.

While Liberty looked at Hank on the hospital bed, Chelsea added, “Hank is out of danger, but he still

has poor vigor, so he’s mostly in a deep sleep. The doctor said that he’d be in a better mental state

after a few days.

“He almost died, after all, so we should thank God if he wakes up.”

After saying that, Chelsea asked Liberty, “Where’s Sonny?”

“Sonny went to preschool and will only be picked up at four in the afternoon.”

Chelsea responded, “Oh right, I almost forgot. Today is September 1st, the start of school. Sonny is in

preschool now. Time flies.”

When Hank and Liberty divorced, Sonny could not speak well.

Now, Sonny was in preschool.

“Is Sonny used to it?” Mr. and Mrs. Brown asked in unison.

If they were to raise Sonny, they would not bear to let him go to preschool at the age of three. They

thought he should only be sent to preschool only at the age of five as they would miss him too much if

he went too soon.

“His teacher sent a video of him in the class group, and I saw him playing happily with the other

children. He eats by himself, and he sleeps soundly during their midday break. The teacher said that

Sonny is the only child who didn’t cry. The other ones will cry and ask for their moms.”

Sonny was probably stimulated by Laurence, so he did not dare to cry in preschool and only watched

others cry.

It was also possible that he still found everything new as it was only the first day of school.

Moreover, he was usually playing with other people instead of sticking to Liberty every day, so he

adapted faster than the other children.

“I’ll bring Sonny to see his dad on Saturday.”

The Browns hummed.

Liberty noticed that his former in-laws’ hair was white and that they looked much older. She quietly took

out some money and handed it to her former mother-in-law. She said, “Mrs. Brown, this is for Sonny’s

dad to get some supplements. You and Mr. Brown should also take care of your health and buy some

supplements.”

Hank was severely injured by Jessica and probably would not be able to work for a year or so.

He was the backbone of the family, so life would be much more difficult for them if he could not work fornovelbin

such a long time.

Hank initially had some savings, but he spent most of them when he married Jessica. Now, he was

also spending a lot of money to be hospitalized.

Since Jessica was still in jail, they could not force her to pay for his medical bills in advance.

Hank’s incident could be said to have emptied the Browns’ family fortune.

“Liberty, no need for this. We still have some savings. You’re raising Sonny on your own, and you have

to pay for his tuition fee in preschool now, so keep it and don’t worry about us.”
