Chapter 2010

Jasmine thought Serenity had mistakenly identified Aunt Audrey as family.

“My mom and Aunt Audrey are biological sisters. However, Kevin discovered a prominent family in

Jensburg that prioritizes daughters. The previous head of that family died from a scheme planned by

her younger sister, and her husband’s family members lost their lives too. However, it was covered upnovelbin

as an accidental death.

“The family head had two daughters who went missing tens of years ago. No one knows whether

they’re dead or alive. The family name is Fisher, which is also my mom’s original surname. That’s why

Zachary suspects the Fisher family is related to my mother.”

Jasmine widened her eyes. She said in shock, “Wow. That sounds complicated.”

Her best friend’s mother had a tough life.

Serenity’s mother, Lisa, would have been born with a golden spoon if she were really from the Fisher

family. However, she did not have the luck to enjoy the wealth and luxury. Instead, she lost her closest

family at a young age.

After ending up in an orphanage with her sister, someone adopted her. Despite that, she did not have a

peaceful life. She had been transferred and passed to several adoptive parents. That continued until

she was seven or eight years old before she was finally taken in by the Howden family and raised.

After Lisa married into the Hunt family, she gave birth to two daughters while having biased in-laws.

Luckily, Scott treated her well, and their daughters were obedient and filial. Being able to spend days

like that made her happy.

However, misfortune struck again. Scott and Lisa died in a car accident. Most of the insurance

compensation was also taken away by the Hunt family.

Lisa had had a tragic life, which also made her two daughters suffer for more than ten years.

Serenity never thought her mother had such a difficult life too.

She took her phone and told her friend, “Please look after the store, Jas. I’m heading to my aunt’s

house now.”

“Go ahead. Drive slowly. Whether true or not, just try to gather information and investigate it gradually.

You can definitely find out everything. I believe Zachary will request Josh to help in the investigation

too.

“Even if it’s true, leave it to your aunt, just like Zachary mentioned. She’s one of the victims. I trust she

has the ability to take care of this matter well.”

Jasmine had heard a lot about Mrs. Stone’s younger days.

If Mrs. Stone was really the eldest daughter of the Fisher family’s previous head, she could also seek

justice for her parents and relatives.

However, even though people suspected the previous head of the Fisher family died because of the

current head, was there evidence?

If there were, it would have been utterly destroyed by the current family head.

The incident occurred tens of years ago. Even if the Buchams lent a hand, they probably would not

obtain any evidence.

Unless some insiders were still alive.

With Madam Fisher’s cruelty, would she have allowed the insiders to live?

It was impossible.

“I know, Jas. Thank you. I’ll leave now.”

“It’s okay. Josh will come over in the afternoon. You can go and ask your aunt about this.”

Jasmine was understanding.

Serenity took her car keys and left the bookstore soon.

About twenty minutes later, she arrived at the Stone family’s manor.

Elisa was just about to head out. When she saw Serenity there, she got out of the car and went up to

Serenity.

“Seren.”

Serenity parked her car. She got out and asked Elisa, “Are you going out?”

“Yup. I was just about to look for you and Jasmine at the bookstore, then you came.”

She saw Serenity taking a few gifts from the car and said, “Did you buy supplements for my mom

again? She’ll definitely nag you when you enter the house. My mom has so many supplements that

they can form a little mountain. It’s even more than what pharmacies have.”

“I just bought two boxes of vitamins for Aunt Audrey. Everyone can have it. You should get Alice to eat

more vitamins too.”

Elisa smiled and said, “My sister-in-law wants to vomit when she sees vitamins. She’s sick of it

already.”
