Chapter 1969

In any case, Kevin would pursue Hayden.

Tough women were afraid of clingy men.

The more Kevin clung to Hayden, she would become his wife.

From Zachary and Callum’s success stories, Kevin firmly believed that as long as he was sincere and

thick-faced enough, he would be able to win the maiden’s heart.

Zachary laughed. “She has been pretending to be a man for over twenty years and has never been

discovered. Now that you’re suddenly pursuing her, it’s very normal for her to hate you since she’s not

mentally prepared. It’s only because she’s mentally strong that she’s not scared by you.”

“It was Serenity and Callum’s advice.”

Zachary chuckled and asked, “Did it work?”

“It worked quite well because the problem was solved. Zack, I can now confirm that Hayden is a

woman.”

“Nana would never trick us. Hayden must be a woman. How could Nana arrange a man for you?”

Zachary, who had been tricked by his nana multiple times, had forgotten the times he was tricked by

her. He put in a good word for her at the moment.

Kevin grinned. “That’s our nana, so how could she betray us when it concerns our marriage? Zack,

you’re busy, right? Go on with it. I’m going to wash up and sleep. I drank quite a lot of wine tonight and

am slightly drunk.

“I need to go to bed early so that I’ll be full of energy once I wake up tomorrow morning, and I can

continue to pursue my wife.”

“Alright, all the best.”

Zachary ended the call with Kevin in a happy mood.

He looked at the time and found it was just after nine in the evening.

It was still early for people like him who often worked late into the night.

For a long time, he was home by half-past nine.

He only recently took over Josh’s and Callum’s workload because Serenity was not home. He wanted

to exhaust himself so much that he could not miss her.

Zachary thought Serenity was heartless.

If he did not take the initiative to contact her, she would not call him or send him a message.

Serenity would cry for injustice as she had just sent him a message twenty minutes ago, and the

message: [Babe, I miss you].

Even so, Zachary felt that twenty minutes was a long time ago. He could not help but video call

Serenity.

Serenity answered very quickly.

“Seren.”

“You’re still outside?”

Serenity noticed Zachary’s background as soon as the video call was connected. He was not at home.novelbin

Zachary sulked on purpose and said pitifully, “I’m a man abandoned by his wife. I can’t hold my wife

even if I go home early, so I can only socialize and occupy myself until late at night so I can fall asleep.

Otherwise, I’ll keep thinking about you in bed, and I’ll toss and turn without being able to sleep.”

Serenity laughed. “Are you that pitiful? I don’t find it hard to sleep at all. I fall asleep as soon as I get

into bed every day.”

“That’s why you have no conscience. You don’t miss me at all, whereas I’m missing you so much that

I’m going crazy. Honey, why don’t you and Nana come back tomorrow?”

Serenity answered after some thought, “If we go back tomorrow, we’re not prepared at all, and we

haven’t packed. Most importantly, Jane and I agreed to take the children to the zoo tomorrow, so it’s

better we go back the day after tomorrow.”

“Seren.”

“We’ll go back early the day after tomorrow, then you and I will have lunch together at noon. I’ll pick you

up from work and prepare a big bouquet of roses for you, okay?”

Zachary pouted his lips and responded reluctantly, “Okay, the day after tomorrow it is. Remember to

come back early in the morning and pick me up from work. Roses won’t be enough, at night—”

Serenity chuckled. “I’ll let you go wild just this once.”

He could not go wild every day.

She would die of exhaustion.

Only then was Zachary pacified. “You’re the one who said that, okay? You can’t go back on your word.”

Serenity somewhat trembled after hearing him. Was it too late for her to retract her words?

“There’s something I want to tell you when you come back.”
