Chapter 1875

The Johnsons were well aware of the fact that the Yorks had not had a daughter for several

generations.

Old Mrs. Johnson had a daughter but not a granddaughter. Now that Jane gave birth to a great-

granddaughter for her, it also made up for her regret of not having a granddaughter. She could not quite

empathize with how much Grandma May hoped for a great-granddaughter.

Zachary and Serenity had been married for almost a year, yet Serenity was still not getting a baby

bump. Old Mrs. Johnson did not dare to talk too much with Grandma May about children, worried that

Grandma May would put pressure on Serenity due to her eagerness for a great-grandchild.

In fact, Serenity was in a rather difficult situation.

Fortunately, she was married to Zachary. The Yorks had good family values, and the elders were open-

minded such that they would not urge them to have kids.

They also did not mind Serenity’s family background.

This was the same as when the Johnsons did not despise Jane in the past. Nevertheless, even though

Jane was from the countryside, her family background was not poor as they were well-off.

Not to mention, Jane reunited with her biological parents and suddenly became the eldest

granddaughter of the Lafayettes from Meadspring. Her identity became very valuable.

The head of the Lafayettes was Jane’s twin brother. After their dad retired, he split their private family

assets equally between Jane and his brother. Putting aside her identity as Mrs. Young-Johnson, she

was already a rich woman given her personal assets.

She had a net worth of tens of billions of dollars.

This was something Serenity could not compare with.

Therefore, Old Mrs. Johnson felt that the Yorks had great family values and open-minded elders.

Grandma May was also unconventional in picking a granddaughter-in-law as she only valued one’s

character.

“Liz, don’t say that. Ben is also very outstanding and isn’t inferior to Zack at all. Compared to Zack, I

think Ben is a little better as his temper is much better. Zach has a bad temper, and only Seren can

withstand him. Any other person would have argued with him every three days and fought with him

every five days.

“Not to mention Ben, even Remy is extremely outstanding. I admire Remy, but unfortunately, I don’t

have a granddaughter. Otherwise, I would’ve become in-laws with you.”

Speaking of Remy, Old Mrs. Johnson asked, “How are Remy and Elisa? I heard from Antonia that Mrs.

Stone just dislikes the fact that Remy is far away and can’t bear to let her daughter be married far

away. Remy has been stationed in Wiltspoon for a long time and takes care of the business there. How

is that different from him being a local in Wiltspoon?

“Mrs. Stone is very stubborn. My daughter-in-law was so anxious that she wanted to take action

herself.

“But Remy said it’s not the right time for the elders to meet yet, so he won’t let his parents go over and

get involved. He said he can handle his own business, so we can only be anxious.”

Grandma May responded, “Audrey is a huge pain when she’s stubborn. That said, it’s not that she

doesn’t think that Remy is not good enough; she only has one daughter and really can’t bear to see her

get married far away.”

“Audrey is Mrs. Stone’s maiden name, right? Her surname is truly rare.”

Old Mrs. Johnson only knew Mrs. Stone was a Fisher. She did not know her maiden name.novelbin

“Indeed. The only Fishers I know in Jensburg…”

Grandma May suddenly stopped talking.

Fisher was indeed a rare surname. Mrs. Stone happened to be a Fisher, and there were also Fishers in

Jensburg. The Fishers had a woman in power—no, the eldest daughter in power.

When Grandma May first set her eyes on Hayden and wanted to take her as a candidate as her

granddaughter-in-law, she moved around in Jensburg for a long time. Apart from secretly observing

Hayden’s character and abilities, she also figured out several big families in Jensburg.

The Fishers were the most special ones, so Grandma May had also looked into them.
