Chapter 1862

Callum held her hand and continued walking. As they walked, he said, “Trenton still cares about you a

lot. He’s still young and inexperienced. Don’t take his words too seriously.”

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t angry or sad,” Camryn said softly. “I care about Trenton the most in that

family. I may seem like I have a bad attitude toward him or that I hate him, but I still like this brother of

mine a lot in my heart.

“He’s different from them. He likes me from the bottom of his heart and truly sees me as his sister. Ever

since he started remembering things, he would protect and help me. Whenever Mom hit or scolded me,

he would always rush over to push her away and stop her from beating me.

“My mom thought Trenton was only so protective of me because I coaxed him into doing so. After that,

she stopped me from interacting with him and used every way possible to prevent Trenton and me from

spending time together. However, since we lived in the same house, Trenton had always defended me,

even from his father.

“Only then did his dad half-heartedly tell my mom to treat me better. When Trenton started going to

school, Carrie was jealous that Trenton was nicer to me. She persistently persuaded my mom to send

him to a boarding school and talked about cultivating his independence.

“Actually, they just don’t want me to have a close sibling relationship with Trenton. That was why he

was sent to a boarding school at a young age and could only return once a week. Whenever he came

back, they would put on an act and treat me decently.

“Once Trenton returned to school, I would become a transparent person at home again and be bullied

by Carrie often. If I put up a resistance, it would always end up with my mom beating me up… That

family only gave me trauma and darkness. Trenton was the only beam of light amid the dark.”

Camryn paused momentarily before continuing, “I heard my aunts have always been close to my uncle.

The age gap between them and my dad was bigger, so they didn’t like playing with him. I also heard it

was because they felt my grandparents favored my dad more. They were jealous.

“When I started strategizing to take over Newman Enterprise, I was also preparing to chase the

Chandlers and Joyners out. Did they think I didn’t know how much they’ve taken advantage of Newman

Enterprise? I’m already merciful enough to chase them out of Newman Enterprise without suing them

out of consideration of our familial ties.

“However, they’re now trying to drive a wedge between Trenton and I. They’re so despicable. Callum,

you don’t have to hold back against them.” Camryn was hurt by her brother. At the same time, she

resented her aunts too.

Initially, she thought of turning a deaf ear no matter how much they scolded her because they were her

aunts. In any case, she would not let her cousins return to Newman Enterprise as long as she was

alive.

The Chandlers’ and Joyners’ businesses in Wiltspoon were not huge but sizable. The businesses were

doing well, and the industries they were involved in were similar to Newman Enterprise.

The two families used to work closely with Newman Enterprise. Of course, as Camryn had cut off their

partnerships, the two families suffered major losses while losses in Newman Enterprise were reduced

to a minimum.

Aside from that, Camryn did not intend to get revenge on or oppress them any further.

However, Callum, who was protective of his wife, was not as good-tempered. He often created

obstacles for the two families in secret and caused their businesses to suffer.

Camryn knew of it but did not put in a word for the Chandlers and Joyners. She simply told her fiancé

to leave them with enough money to live the rest of their lives.novelbin

However, she no longer wanted to show mercy.

Newman Enterprise was only a poor company in Wiltspoon. Otherwise, she could have broken off the

cash flow of the Chandlers’ and Joyners’ businesses on her own. They would not have had enough

money to go around and be forced into bankruptcy.

“Okay.”

Callum replied gently, “Since they like to make things troublesome, we shall play with them patiently,

make them gradually fall into despair and lose everything.”

After a moment of silence, Camryn said, “The saddest thing to me is that Trenton actually believed their

words.”
