Head bowed, Sabrina forced a bitter smile, murmuring, “Understood..

Understood, understood…”

Her voice trailed off, tremulous, teetering on the edge of tears.

Her heart throbbed, making breathing an ordeal.

Sabrina sniffled, swallowed the bitterness, and said timidly, “Apologies for occupying your precious

time, Mr. Blakely.”

She retreated two steps, turned, and left.

Reaching the door, Tyrone’s voice came from behind her. “You’re aware of what to say to my grandma,

aren’t you?” 1

“I am,” Sabrina replied, eyes shut, tears streaming silently.novelbin

Pushing open the chairman’s office door, she saw Kylan standing outside, apprehensive as ever.

Seeing Sabrina’s tear-streaked face as she left, Kylan was consumed by guilt.

Kylan craned to see that Sabrina had walked into the elevator. Without delay, he pushed the door open

and went inside the office. “Mr. Blakely.”

Tyrone’s Adam’s apple rolled up and down, and instead of his usual sardonic expression, he looked

down with a serious expression.

“Has she left already?”

“Yes, she has left.”

Kylan hesitated, then confessed, “I saw Miss Chavez weeping as she left…”

Tyrone tensed, his knuckles white from clenching his fists.

He restrained himself from chasing after her, knowing it would only compound her distress.

Watching her cry now was preferable to seeing her be in danger. 2

He prayed she’d be alright.

As Sabrina exited the Blakely Group building, a gust of wind swept by.

Stopping on the steps, Sabrina cast her empty eyes ahead. Tears clouded her eyes, and the pain in her

heart threatened to kill her.

Realization dawned that Tyrone’s affections had always been reserved for Galilea. His recent gestures

were an elaborate facade. Only her feelings were sincere.

Summoning courage, she dropped her guard and ambled toward him with open-hearted sincerity. Yet,

in the end, he stabbed her in the back.

Could it be any more ludicrous? She was duped once more by Tyrone, even though she once vowed

never to trust him again… She must be the most foolish soul having been deceived twice by the same

person!
