Stunned, the man’s body stiffened.
“He is?”
Ignoring him, the senior officer addressed his colleagues, “The suspect shouldn’t have gone far. We
need your help.
The local police agreed, and they hurried to chase after Sierra.
As the younger policeman turned to leave, he shot a contemptuous glance at the man.
“When we arrest her, you’ll be next! Did you think you’re some kind of hero by helping out a damsel in
distress?
Well, let me tell you, buddy, you’re obstructing justice, and that’s a serious offense. If someone gets
abducted and sold by her again, it’ll be on your head!”
The man stood wide-eyed and trembled at the thought of being arrested.
Luckily for him, the officers were too preoccupied to gather his information. Being a tourist, he promptly
left Mathias overnight.
He was shocked to learn Sierra was involved in human trafficking, something he would never have
suspected. After returning, he often wondered if the police had caught her. The idea of her running
away filled him with overwhelming guilt.
Meanwhile, Rita had her men stationed outside the hotel to pick them up.
With no time to purchase plane tickets, they were forced to take the train.
Realizing Rita and Sierra had gone far away, the senior officer promptly requested backup.
The police effectively intercepted Rita and Sierra at a high-speed intersection. –
