Chatper 1386

“Rita, I don’t know what they are talking about. I didn’t do anything! Please save me…”

After getting along with Sierra for so many years, Rita knew Sierra better than Sierra knew herself. Rita

could tell at a glance that Sierra was lying.

But that was not the point right now.

Rita stood in front of them and said, “How could Sierra be involved in something like that? I need to

check your badges and arrest warrant!”

The younger policeman took out his badge and showed Rita the warrant, saying, “Please get out of the

way…”

Rita snatched the policeman’s badge and tossed it aside.

“Your badge is fake, and so is the arrest warrant. I don’t know why you’re pretending to be the police,

but let go of her now! If you don’t, I will call the real police!”

The people walking across the hotel at that moment, many of whom were tourists, stopped when they

heard Rita’s words.

The younger policeman didn’t expect Rita to be so bold. He looked at the senior policeman, picked up

his badge, and snapped, “Madam, you will be arrested if you dare stop us from carrying out our officialnovelbin

duties again. Who do you think you are? We will take her away no matter what Rita tried to argue and

yell at them, but the policemen ignored her and dragged a struggling Sierra away.

But Rita soon caught up with them. She grabbed the younger policeman’s hand and shouted, “Look!

Loan sharks! They pretended to be the police in broad daylight and wanted to take my niece away.

You can’t take her away! It’s her father who owes you money. She has nothing to do with you! Don’t

take my niece away!”

The hall of the hotel was soon filled with Sierra’s cries and Rita’s angry bellows. Soon, they were

surrounded by many people.

Rita wore a lady’s suit and a skirt and her hair was meticulously combed. She was well-dressed, giving

off the impression of a noble woman.

A person who appeared decent was usually trusted by the populace to be right.

As a result, many of the people in the hall believed Rita’s words and started pointing accusing fingers

at the two policemen.

The younger policeman pushed Rita away angrily.

“I’m warning you again! We will arrest you if you keep doing this!”

One of the men, who took the younger policeman’s words as confirmation that Rita was right, stepped

forward and shouted, “You can’t do this! That’s too much! You should go to whoever owes you the

money! Why are you taking this girl away? And you even pretended to be a police. I’ve called the

police!”

“She’s misleading you. We are police officers. We arrested this lady here because she is a suspect in a

criminal case.”

“Then what crime did she commit?”

“Human trafficking.”

“Human trafficking?” The man’s face scrunched up as if he had heard something funny.

“Looks like you’re the one trying to abduct her…”

The policeman was rendered speechless.
