A wry smile played on Blayze’s face.
Rita especially emphasized that taking Sabrina to the Fowler family was Horace’s idea.
Horace’s ploy surfaced. Was Horace trying to make Sabrina his stepsister to prevent him from making

Blayze sensed Rita’s words bore weight.
“And what’s your take on this?” Blayze asked, smirking.
“Your father doesn’t know Sabrina has been separated from me for over twenty years. How could

“And?”
“I heard of your fondness for Sabrina. I’m her biological mother.
Give me your word you won’t hand Sierra over to the Garrett family, and I can help you with chasing
after Sabrina. What do you say?”
“How?”
Rita clenched her fingers. Glancing around, she lowered her voice.
Blayze, who held the phone, listened to Rita’s schemes and said nothing.
Rita’s heart raced, awaiting Blayze’s response.
She was betting.
After a long while, Blayze said, “Okay, I promise you.”
A triumphant smile formed on Rita’s face. She won the bet.
“But she’s not the type that just eats anything from others.” Rita fretted.
From the other end, Blayze’s voice, clear and composed, resonated, “Some days ago, I received an
experimental drug. It’s rumored to take effect once its aroma dissipates. You should take the antidote
first,” he explained.
To flatter him, his associates showered him with diverse gifts.
Blayze never anticipated its utility until now.
Rubbing the phone’s back, Blayze lowered his gaze, a hint of darkness lurking within.
If Tyrone discovered this, he’d be incensed.
As for Sabrina, he vowed to make amends when they were together.
“Send someone to deliver it,” said Rita.
The following morning, Rita called Sabrina again.
“Have you pondered over the understanding letter?” Rita inquired.
Sabrina’s fingers tightened.
Bettie’s intuition was accurate. Blayze acquiesced in Rita’s visit.
However, Sabrina harbored scant hope in Blayze’s ability to stop Rita from pestering her.
She didn’t want Tyrone to be targeted by the Garrett family and the Fowler family. After deliberation,
she opted to settle.

“I’ve made my decision. Let’s meet tonight,” Sabrina said.
“Fine. Which restaurant do you prefer? I’ll make a reservation,” Rita offered.
Sabrina chose one at random.
She didn’t know that Tyrone was on a business trip until Jennie came downstairs and told her about it
last night. Jennie had expressed her wish to spend time with Sabrina tonight. Sabrina had agreed.
After the shooting, Sabrina called Karen to inform Jennie of her late return tonight. Then, she
proceeded directly to the restaurant.
Thankfully, Tyrone wasn’t present. If he was here, he would definitely stop her from drafting the letter of
understanding for Brady.
Upon reaching the restaurant, Sabrina saw Rita was already seated, awaiting her arrival.
Seeing Sabrina, Rita greeted her warmly, “Ah, you’ve arrived. Please, take a seat.”
