Chatper 1312

When Sabrina walked out of the restaurant, she tidied up her coat and went down the stairs. She

stared ahead blankly, motionless.

The driver stopped the car on the side of the road. After a few seconds of just watching Sabrina

standing so still, the driver concluded that she didn’t see the car and flashed the taillights.

When Sabrina still didn’t move, the driver lowered the window and shouted, “Miss Chavez, why don’tnovelbin

you get in the car?”

Sabrina blinked and regained awareness of her surroundings. She looked toward the car and slowly

walked over. Once she was in the car, she told the driver in a hoarse voice, “Drive me to… The bank of

the river.”

The driver was stunned. He glanced at Sabrina in the rearview mirror and saw that her eyes were red.

His lips thinned and he said, “Miss Chavez, it’s cold by the river now. Is there anything bothering you?”

When Sabrina didn’t respond, he had no choice but to start the car and drive toward the river bank.

The dim lights on the side of the road shone on Sabrina’s face.

Sabrina leaned against the backseat and stared at the passing scenery blankly. Her heart was heavy,

and she didn’t want to speak at all.

The rumors in the village were dredged up from the deepest recesses of her memory and replayed in

her mind again and again.

As it turned out, they were right. She was not Connor’s biological child. She was a bastard who was

despised by everyone.

There was a sudden lump in her throat, and her eyes welled up with tears as she recalled something.

The shrill whistles, deafening collision, the car with the whole front sunk, and blazing flames…

That night was vivid in Sabrina’s mind, so much so that she could see and smell the fire.

It seemed she had been transported to the night of the car accident that claimed Connor’s life.

Connor loved her very much. But she was not his biological daughter.

If it weren’t for her, Connor would still be alive.

She shouldn’t have existed in this world.

Biting her lower lip, Sabrina tried her best to hold back the grief that threatened to overwhelm her. She

looked up desperately, but tears still ran down her cheeks unchecked.

If Connor had found out before his death that she was not his biological daughter, he would be

heartbroken.

The memories of the times she spent with Connor flashed across Sabrina’s mind. Her heart felt like it

closed up, and she had difficulty breathing.

Why did all these shits happen to her?

Sabrina’s body slid down the seat until she was in a heap on the floor of the car.

The driver was alerted by the creaking sound of the leather, but he was left gobsmacked by what he

saw in the rearview mirror.

“Miss Chavez, are you okay?”
