Chapter 1053

It must be Tyrone who had left it there before heading into the meeting.novelbin

She averted her gaze, feigning ignorance.

Her curiosity sated by observing the fish, she then turned her attention to a magazine nestled within thebookshelf, eager to lose herself in its pages.

Before too long, the office’s tranquility was disrupted by the sound of approaching footsteps.

Tyrone made his entrance, clutching a document in his hand. Observing Sabrina engrossed in reading,he remarked, “You’ve been waiting for quite some time. Are you finding it a tad tedious?”

“I’m perfectly content. Oh, by the way, someone phoned you earlier,” Sabrina casually reminded him.

“Who was it?” Tyrone inquired nonchalantly as he placed the document on the table.

“I didn’t check,” she replied.

Tyrone hesitated momentarily when he retrieved his phone, a seemingly innocuous comment from herstriking a chord within his psyche.

A sudden surge of bitterness and unease coursed through him, casting a shadow over his heart.

Before their divorce, Sabrina and Tyrone never made their marriage public. Except for the phone callsfrom Kylan, Sabrina wouldn’t answer other people’s calls for Tyrone, but she wouldn’t avoid his phoneeither.

However, after their wedding anniversary, she stopped checking his phone.

Sabrina no longer Left the Light on for him when he returned late, nor did she prepare his suit and tiefor the next day. She didn’t care if he had eaten on time and no longer affectionately called his name.

But Tyrone was oblivious to these changes.

Slowly, she began to distance herself from him.

However, Tyrone remained unaware and continued to hold on to hope, wanting to salvage theirrelationship.

Noticing Tyrone’s somber expression, Sabrina inquired curiously, “What’s wrong? Did the meeting notgo well?” “No,” Tyrone replied, pausing for a moment. Tyrone unlocked his phone and noticed a missedcall from Damon. Tyrone returned the call.

Sabrina closed the magazine she had been reading and placed it on the table. “Do you have a momentnow?” Sabrina asked casually.

“Just a minute.”

As soon as the call connected, Tyrone glanced at Sabrina and made a gesture. He then put the phoneto his ear.

“Hello? What’s the matter?”

Damon said something on the other end of the line, and Tyrone‘s face suddenly became stern andangry.

“Are you sure? Okay, I see. I’LL be right there.”
