Chapter 88 The Famous Pianist Quinn

Soon, everyone had gotten themselves a drink and found a place to sit.

Felix gave John a pointed look which he had immediately understood. He grinned at Penny and

apologized, "Penny, you know how I am. I was rash with my words earlier, so I want to apologize."

Penny and Nathan were sitting next to each other. She calmly answered, "I didn't take it to heart."

John continued, "That's good. And you can't really blame me. I just feel like you deserve more."

"You were the prettiest girl at Channing University and now you're the CEO of a company. And yet

you're married to such a useless bum."

"You know what I think? I think only someone as tall, as handsome, and as wealthy as Mr. Felix is

worthy of you."

Everyone fell silent when they heard John's words.

Felix was smiling and looking at Penny affectionately, not bothering to hide his intentions towards her.

Penny was secretly quite protective of Nathan. After seeing John insult him repeatedly, she had gotten

so angry, nearly losing her temper.

But Nathan took hold of her hand to calm her down, letting her know that she did not need to get into it

with them.

Nathan spoke up, "Penny, this gathering seems quite uninteresting. If there's nothing else, why don't

we go home early and rest?”

Felix became anxious when he saw that Nathan and Penny had intended to leave.

He had plans forthat night, so he absolutely could not have allowed Penny to leave so early.

If she left, how was he supposed to win her over?

And so, he hurriedly turned to Penny.

"Penny, don't leave so quickly. I remember back in university, you really liked classical music and you

practically idolized the pianist Quinn."

"According to my sources, she's been in Channing recently. I've already sent someone to invite her

over, to have her play something for us. Don't you want to see a live performance from your idol?”

Quinn was a very famous classical pianist. Her masterful skills were well-known internationally.

But she had rarely performed for just anyone and only held international tours once every so often.

Penny had always loved music since she was a child, especially classical music.

She was already a fan of Quinn while she was still studying. Her heart fluttered hearing that her idol

was going to come and perform live.

But in the end, she had still decided to leave.

Even though she had wished to hear her idol's live performance, she could not bear to have Nathan

stay on, continuing to be insulted.

Nathan could tell that Penny had really wanted to listen to the pianist's performance, so he turned to

her and calmly said, "Penn, since you want to listen to the performance, we can stay a while longer."

"That's right. When I found out that Quinn was in Channing earlier, I immediately had someone invite

her here. She should be here very soon," added Felix.

Right then, one of Felix's men, Wraith, came up to him.

Felix hurriedly asked him, "Wraith, did you get a hold of Quinn?”

Everyone turned to look at Wraith. All these socialites were feeling proud that they were about to have

a chance to listen to Quinn's live performance, and so they waited expectantly for Wraith's answer.

Wraith looked ashamed, "Mr. Felix, I'm sorry. I couldn't get Ms. Quinn to come."

Felix was both bewildered and outraged. "What are you saying? Didn't I say that I was willing to pay

however much for her? And did you tell her who I was?"

Logan Smith, the third son from the very prominent Logan family, who was willing to spend a small

fortune, was rejected by Quinn!

Felix could not stand such humiliation!novelbin
