Chapter 209 He Is Not A Good Match For My Sister
Nathan drove to Channing Central Hospital and carried Kylie to the emergency room. He found a
female doctor and said, "Doctor, her drink was spiked. Please save her."
The female doctor quickly called a few other female nurses and they carried Kylie onto a bed and
perform the necessary procedure.
Not long after Nathan settled the bills, the doctor came over to inform him that Kylie was fine and could
be discharged half an hour later when she woke up.
He was worried that Kylie would feel embarrassed because of what happened earlier.
As such, he decided to withdraw himself from the matter and told the doctor not to reveal who he was.
After which, he left.
As he stepped out of the hospital, he noticed that one of the buttons on his shirt was gone. Perhaps it
was yanked out by someone else earlier.
He shook his head with a bitter smile on his face. What is going on tonight?
Meanwhile, Kylie woke up to find herself in a hospital ward.
She felt rather weak but was starting to gain her sense and became more clearheaded.
The first thing she did was to check on herself. She looked down to check her clothes and saw that
they were neat and tidy. Most importantly, there was nothing wrong with her body apart from feeling
weak.
Kylie heaved a sigh of relief after confirming that she was not sexually violated.
Upon this, she recalled the heroic man who risked his life and saved her amidst facing attacks from a
bunch of ferocious and aggressive gangsters.
She looked around the ward but there was no sign of that man.
However, there was a shirt button in her palms. She recalled that she accidentally yanked it offnovelbin
because she held onto him really tight.
At this moment, the doctor came in with her fellow nurses and checked on her with a smile, "Ah, you
are awake. Are you feeling alright?"
"I'm alright. May I know who sent me to the hospital? Did he leave any contact?" Kylie asked hurriedly.
The doctor remembered Nathan's instructions and replied with a smile, "It was just a kind-hearted man,
but he did not leave his name nor any contact number."
Kylie looked so disappointed after hearing that.
She looked down at the button in her palms. Suddenly, she lifted her gaze and asked the doctor
curiously, "Doctor, is that man uh...handsome?"
The doctor seemed to understand her intentions and told her, "Well, he looked around the same age as
you. As for his appearance, I would say he is quite good looking and charming."
Kylie's eyes flashed with excitement./ wonder when can I meet him again?
Nathan returned home at night.
Leah was busy preparing dinner in the kitchen.
Penny Smith was helping her daughter with her homework. When she saw Nathan returning home
alone, she asked him with a shocked expression, "Nathan, why are you alone? Where is Kylie?"
Nathan replied calmly, "She said that she wanted to attend a gathering so I didn't need to pick her up.
She would come back on her own when the gathering is over.”
Penny and the rest nodded after hearing his explanation.
After half an hour, dinner was cooked and Leah asked everyone to gather at the dining table.
The doorbell rang and Penny went to open the door hurriedly. It was indeed Kylie.
However, the latter looked rather lethargic and Penny thought it was because of the long hours she
spent traveling.
Without thinking much, Penny greeted her enthusiastically, "Kylie! You are here! Come on in."
Benson and Leah brought Queenie out too and greeted Kylie in a warm and welcoming manner.
"Aunt!" Queenie waved to her and greeted her affectionately.
"What a good girl," Kylie picked her up and gave her a kiss.
However, Kylie quickly realized that everyone else welcomed her arrival except her brother-in-law. He
sat at the dining table quietly and drank his soup without greeting her at the door. He only gave her a
small nod when he saw her.
A long time ago, Kylie heard that Penny was bullied by an alcoholic, homeless man. After which, she
got pregnant and was looked down upon and bullied by the rest of the Smiths.
She even heard that this man came to look for Penny recently and got together with her again.
As an educated woman, Kylie thought that this was ridiculous and felt that Penny should not be stuck in
such a predicament.
Needless to say, Nathan left an extremely bad impression on Kylie.
However, she could not comprehend why Penny's family treated him so well.
Leah noticed that Kylie kept staring at Nathan and quickly introduced him, "This is your brother-in-law,
Nathan Cross. He went to the airport to pick you up this afternoon. I'm sure you two have met.”
Kylie remarked nonchalantly, "Yes, we met earlier. But I will not say that he is my brother-in-law. He is
not a good match for my sister!"
