Chapter 191 Who Is Causing Trouble Behind Our Back

At the police station.

The police officer pointed at the computer screen, telling Nathan and Thomas, "We've gone through

The Imperial's surveillance tapes. This person knocked out the waiter and impersonated him as he

delivered alcohol to the private room. The coroner's preliminary analysis showed that Chien died from

poisoning, so the police suspect this man is the killer."

Nathan queried, "Have you managed to identify him?"

Shaw shook his head. "He's not in any of our systems so he's probably an unregistered citizen of the

nation."

Nathan nodded before he left the police station with Thomas.

As they stepped out of the building, Thomas could not contain himself anymore. "Sir, who do you think

is causing all this trouble in the dark?"

"It's definitely not someone from the other nationsorthe North as they wouldn't cause such minor

incidents only.”

Thomas understood Nathan had a lot of enemies from the North and the other nations bordering their

nation. He knew that his real identity was the General of the North Army. He also knew a lot of

influential people in the North had different ideals from his general. They were constantly going against

him and would be more than happy if Nathan were taken care of.

His general was right. If this was an attack from these enemies, the scale would be a lot bigger. As

such, the troublemakers could only be from Channing itself or the South.

When the pool of enemies had been narrowed down so much, the answer was fairly obvious. It was

most likely Nathan's newest enemy, the Zabinski family.

As one of the Southern Four, the Zabinski family was incredibly powerful in the South. After what

Nathan did to Jerry Zabinski, there was no doubt that the family was furious and wanted to claim his

life.

Thomas narrowed his eyes as he huffed, "The Zabinski family is really asking for it!"

Nathan's voice was as calm as ever when he replied, "If this really is the Zabinski family's doing, the

police and you won't be able to find any evidence. I'll contact Colin and let him have a look.

"Once it's confirmed the Zabinski family is behind this, they'll just have to be wiped from the surface of

the earth."

"Yes, sir!”

By the time Nathan reached home, it was past eleven o'clock at night. Penny and Queenie had fallen

asleep long ago.

Ever since the accident at the construction site, Penny had been very anxious and worried. She had

barely slept a wink in the past two days.novelbin

Now that everything seemed to be under control, all they could do was to wait for the report from the

investigators. Thus, she could finally sleep well.

As Nathan crept into their bedroom, Penny abruptly called out, "Nathan!"

He gave a soft yelp in surprise. He was sure he had been very quiet when he came in but he still woke

her up.

As he watched, the woman shifted into a more comfortable position before a soft snore left her lips,

showing she was still deeply asleep. She had been dreaming!

His lips twitched upward slightly. If she was calling out his name even in her sleep, it just meant that

she had finally started to have feelings for him too.

He stared at her for a few seconds before his gaze focused on her pink lips. Then, he leaned forward to

give her a peck as he mu rm u red Goodnight, Honey. After that, he settled himself next to Queenie

before shutting his eyes with a content smile on his lips.

The next morning after their breakfast, Nathan drove Queenie to Luther Chuss for her chess classes

while Penny went to Cross Corporation. She had to handle the reimbursement of the medical fees for

the injured workers.

She had not been in her office long when the team of investigators from MEM arrived.

She welcomed the investigators anxiously with her team of executive staff.

As everyone sat down in the meeting room, the leader of the investigative team, Luke Harper, threw a

folder down on the table with a loudsmack.

His voice was chilly as he said, "After our investigations, we've come to the conclusion that the

accident at Asiatic construction site happened due to negligence of safety protocols by your company."
