Chapter 1640

Despite feeling bitter deep down inside, Timothy approached Nathan with a simpering smile on his face. “Mr. Cross, I’m surprised to see you here!”

Nathan responded in a flat tone, “Tim, I’m glad to see you again. Have you finished dealing with the bunch of people from The Cross Gang?”

Timothy answered him in an anxious tone, “I’m getting there. The trial will start tomorrow and all we have to do is to wait for the judge to give out his judgment and sentence.”

Nathan nodded in approval. “Perfect!”

People around them started exchanging glances when they heard Timothy.

Hagen, who was on his knees, looked livid with rage. At last, he could no longer hold back his anger as he seethed, “Mr. Carter, that scoundrel was the one who beat my men to death, injured me, forced me to kneel down in front of him and threatened me! I asked you here to finish him off, not to report your work to him!!”

Everyone responded differently to the interaction between Timothy and Hagen. At the same time, they could tell that Nathan must be some sort of a big shot, or Timothy would not treat him with so much reverence.

Cheryl and her fellow officials were psyched the moment they took into account the respectful manner Timothy spoke to Nathan.

They were pissed with Hagen and his men, who had been bullying them quite badly lately.

Their mood hit an all-time low when they lost a sum often billion to Hagen in a gamble.

Everything looked so bleak - they thought they would be tormented by Hagen and his men in the future, and they were sure there was nothing they could do to salvage the situation.

To their utter surprise, Cheryl performed some sort of sorcery to get Nathan here to help them. Not only was the young man a rich guy, he seemed to be quite powerful and influential too. It was unbelievable that even someone as snobbish and arrogant as Hagen was tamed by him.

Their curiosity was piqued and they couldn’t help but wonder what kind of powerful background Nathan actually had.

Glancing back and forth from Hagen—who was still fuming—and then to Timothy, whose expression looked stiff, Nathan chuckled, “Tim, I have some sort of a feud with this lad here. Tell me now - whose side are you on?”

Much flustered after hearing Nathan’s question, Hagen raised his voice and urged, “Mr. Carter, don’t you forget that my father is your master and he’s taught you a lot of stuff! Now, I’m offended by that lad, and I demand you to arrest him immediately and interrogate him with punishments!”

Timothy’s forehead was covered with beads of sweat as he found himself in a quandary.

He was the disciple of Boris Tucker, who had not been on good terms with Nathan lately.

Therefore, he did not have the guts to publicly express his support for Nathan.

However, there was no way he could arrest Nathan as what Hagen requested too.

He fished out a handkerchief and dabbed at his forehead before bracing himself to say, “Mr. Hagen, I’m sure there must be some misunderstanding between you and Mr. Cross here. If Mr. Cross finds something you did offensive, why don’t you offer an apology to him? I’ll help you put in some good words to convince Mr. Cross to forgive you this time. Then, we’ll let the matter rest, alright?” Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

Hagen was left dumbfounded and incensed after hearing what Timothy said.

Timothy had turned out to be such a letdown for Hagen. Instead of finishing off Nathan as he was asked to do, he ended up offering to help him plead for leniency from Nathan.

With his expression hardened, he seethed, “Mr. Carter, how dare you ask me to apologize to him! Are you out of your mind? Who exactly is he? Why are you so afraid of him?” Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

Many of them who presented at the scene were curious about the answers to Hagen’s questions too.

Just then, Timothy stole a furtive glance at Nathan and found him looking unperturbed and composed.

At that moment, he steeled himself to answer Hagen’s question in a soft voice, “If you really want to know who Mr. Cross is, I can only give you a clue - he’s awarded the highest military merit of our country!” Content belongs to NovelDrama.Orgnovelbin

Boom!

Hagen and his men went stupefied as though they were just struck by lightning.
