Chapter 1596

Everyone present looked directly at him.

However, Nathan maintained his impassive expression. Calmly, he lit a military-provisionedcigarette and took a drag. “Valois,” said Nathan coldly. “That's not how you beat someone up.”

Upon hearing this, Valois and the others were stunned.

Nathan looked at the weakened girl who lay on the ground, covered with blood. She appeared to beseverely hurt and had difficulty breathing. However, Phoebe did not suffer fatal injuries. It was only abroken nose.

In an indifferent tone, Nathan said, “Don't play games with me.” “In fact, if you really wanted to beather up, one punch would suffice.” “Colin, come here.” Nathan gestured at the man who stoodbehind him.

The burly Colin stepped out. In his deep voice, he responded. “Yes, General.”

Colin's stature was terrifying to behold. Having earned his title as a King of Warriors, a single punchfrom him was enough to break through concrete. If he punched Phoebe, that was all it would take tosend her to her death.

She screamed with fright in an instant.

Valois and Vadim's expressions also changed very drastically. They looked absolutely mortified.

Valois and his men stopped Colin. “You wouldn't dare.”

Vadim had also brought along a few powerful fighters and a dozen or so guards to dissuade him.“General, I'd advise caution.”

Nathan looked at everyone present and asked, “I'm going to arrest her now. Do you have the ballsto stop me?”

Valois was about to be driven mad with anger. “Nathan, let me remind you that you are not withinyour own territory. If you want to arrest my niece, you still need General Normandy's approval.”novelbin

Nathan looked at Vadim. “Is that what you think too?”

Vadim's rank was a far cry from Nathan's. Under his watchful gaze, Vadim could feel the immensepressure that was laid upon him at that moment.

However, the thought of repaying the favor he owed Phoebe's father made his confidence return. He promised he would do everything in his power, after all.

He bit the bullet and said, “General Cross, this woman is the beloved daughter of my mentor. I can'tjust look the other way.”

“All I ask is that you spare her life. That way, everyone can be satisfied.”

“Hmm, that won't do. What if I insist on an investigation? What if I want to give the three innocentsoldiers who sacrificed their lives for nothing some closure?”

Vadim gritted his teeth. “I cannot allow it. Even if I had to wear down all twenty-thousands of mytroops, I will never agree to this.”

“General Cross, please reconsider. Otherwise, this will only end badly.”

“I promised the victims that the culprit would pay for this. No god can protect them from their fate.”

“If it's all of you? Nobody is walking away.”

“Colin! Ava! Now!”

The moment Nathan issued the command, they ran towards Phoebe with no hesitation.

Vadim and Valois immediately ordered their men to stop them.

Just then, all the fighters behind Valois launched an attack to intercept Colin and Ava.

Vadim's men had also rushed towards the scene in an attempt to stop the two of them fromattacking Phoebe.

An intense fight broke out in the living room.

Although only two people were standing in the way of Colin and Ava, the pair circled theiropponents like tigers on the prowl. Their hands were at their weapons, ready to be drawn at amoment's notice.

Without warning, the fighters belonging to the Davier family as well as Vadim's garrison were beingpummeled at by Colin and Ava.

The men Vadim had stationed outside along with the remainder of Nathan's entourage immediatelyrushed towards the residence the moment they heard the sounds of a fight.

“General Normandy, are you okay?”

“General Cross, are you alright?”

Vadim and Nathan's soldiers broke in from the outside, concern etched on everyone's faces.

Just then, Nathan swung his arm around Vadim's shoulder as if pulling him into a mock embrace. He then tightened his grip into a chokehold.

Everyone who witnessed this was dumbfounded when they saw the position Vadim was in.

Nathan maintained his grip on Vadim and smiled at the soldiers who had just breached theresidence. “This has nothing to do with you. Fall back.”

Vadim's men glanced at him, their expressions were clearly confused. “General Normandy?”

Vadim had not expected Nathan's melee combat skills to be so adept. Just when he least expectedit, he had fallen right into Nathan's hands amidst the confusion.

Nathan placed more pressure on his arm as a warning. He could have easily snapped Vadim's

neck.

Vadim had no choice but to order his men to stand down. “Didn't you hear what the General said?Retreat!”

Soon, the soldiers from both parties had left the scene.

In the living room, Valois's and Vadim's guards had all been defeated by both Colin and Ava.

After Nathan easily brought the situation under control, he glanced around the room in search ofAva. “Make sure you send Phoebe off with a bang.”
