The next morning.

Nathan was eating breakfast with his family when the doorbell rang.

Benson went to open the door, revealing his estranged older sister and sister-in-law, Lily Smith andMatthew Marley.

He exclaimed in surprise, "Lily, Matthew, what brings you here? Please come in."

They reached out to grab some of the peanuts set out on the table, tossing the emptyshells on the floor carelessly. There was an ugly sneer on her face when she stated, "Outstanding?He's in hot waters now, and your family is in dire straits, yet you're completely oblivious to it!"

Benson and his family were stunned to hear that.

He hurriedly questioned, "Lily, what do you mean by that?”

She scoffed then looked at Nathan and Penny when she replied, "You can thank your daughter andher husband for that. They broke the legs of Fip Harbor, the young master of the Harbor family. TheMatriarch was absolutely incensed and has sworn to destroy all of you!"

Benson and the rest paled considerably at her words.

In a quavering voice, Penny asked, "Aunt Lily, are you serious?"

Snorting, the older woman answered, "The Matriarch has already sent Mr. Noel to come and teachyou both a lesson. They should be arriving in Channing today. Do I look like I'm joking?"

Her eyes took on a sly gleam before she said, "Your uncle and I are here precisely forthat reason.He's a common guest at the Harbor household and has a bit of leeway when it comes to talking tothe Matriarch. When he heard about how they wanted to come after your entire family, he keptbegging for mercy on your behalf. It took a lot of effort on his part before she agreed to lighten thepunishment."

"What does she want now?" Benson queried.

Matthew coughed lightly before stating, "Due to my valiant efforts, she's decided on only punishingNathan and Penny. Everybody else not involved in the incident will not be affected. She wants all ofNathan's limbs broken so that he becomes a cripple for life. Penny, on the other hand, has tobecome a servant to the Harbor family. She needs to look after Young Master Fip to make up for herwrongdoings."

Penny and the others looked upset at the news.

Lily narrowed her eyes. "Keep in mind that their original plan was to destroy your entire family, and itwas only because of us that the Matriarch decided to have mercy. This is already the bestpunishment you could hope for. Since we helped you so much, we expect some repayment fromyou."

Lily and Matthew were obviously taken aback and furious at Nathan's words.

They had thought they would advise Nathan to self-mutilate and for Penny to proactively head tothe Harbor family manor. They hoped that by doing so, they would be able to curry favor with theHarbors. Of course, they also planned on using this opportunity to ransom some money from Pennyand the rest.

Furious, they stormed out of there while
