Chapter 1255 A Subordinate Of The General Of The North

Just like Kylie predicted, Neelan was not a Major General. He was just a lowly conman.

Since a year ago, Neelan and his friends had been pretending to be soldiers to scam bosses ofcompanies.

They earned loads of money with the excuse of helping to settle problems for these hugecorporations.

They would flee after receiving the money each time. Usually, the people who had been scammedwould not have the courage to report this to the police.

That night, after watching the news, Neelan found out that the president of the Cross Group was theprettiest girl in college, Penny Smith.

An idea popped into his mind. Neelan decided to try his luck and swindle Penny for once.

If his plan succeeded, he would get both wealth and love. This would be his greatest achievementin life.

Judging by Penny's surprised expression, he figured that his plan was going smoothly.

Penny snapped out of shock and said, "So it was Mr. Coleman who lent us a helping hand. I amvery thankful for that."

Neelan grinned, "No problem. I can do anything for you.”

Penny froze. "You must be joking, Mr. Coleman..."

Neelan took on a serious look and said solemnly, "Ms. Smith, I wasn't joking."

"Actually, I have always had a secret crush on you since college."

"Now that I am the Major General of the North Army, a subordinate of the General of the North, Ican finally express my feelings for you in the open."

Penny hurriedly denied, "No, General Coleman. I think there has been a misunderstanding. I ammarried, and I really love my husband. It's impossible for a relationship to blossom between you andme."

The comers of Neelan's lips lifted. "I know that you are married."

"Not only that, but I also know that your husband was the drunkard who forced himself on you whenhe was drunk a few years back. I heard that he paid you a visit and started living off you. Restassured. I will help you teach this rascal a lesson."

Penny's face fell. "General Coleman, you really misunderstood me. My husband is not a rascal, andwe have a great relationship."

Neelan refused to believe what Penny had said.

He heard that Nathan had slept with Penny a few years ago when he was drunk and caused her togive birth to a child out of wedlock.

A year ago, Nathan reappeared and came to find Penny. He had clung to Penny since then.

Nathan was just a useless crap who was living off Penny.novelbin

The reason Penny denied his statements was probably to retain her prestige as a BusinessGoddess. She would not want bad rumors about her to spread.

Neelan mocked, "Ms. Smith, I know that you are forced to be with Nathan, that bastard, to protectyour reputation. Believe me. With my current status and capability, I can settle him easily."

"I will call him right now and ask him to come here. If he knows what he should do and leaves you, Iwill let him go. If not, I will immediately order my subordinates to shoot him."

Upon hearing this, Penny panicked.

Just as she was about to stop Neelan from being impulsive, a Hongqi drifted past and stopped bythe roadside.

A man got out of the car. It was Nathan Cross.

"Hubby, why are you here?" Penny's voice cracked as she called out to Nathan.

Nathan smiled as he answered, "Kylie told me that both of you bought a lot of stuff and asked me tocome over to help out."

Neelan narrowed his eyes and stared at Nathan stonily. He asked coldly, "So, you are NathanCross?"

Nathan looked at Neelan and the few brats behind him. He chuckled, "Yes, I am Penny's husband, and you are?"

Before Neelan opened his mouth to answer, one of the soldiers behind him bellowed at Nathan,"Are you blind? Can't you see our army uniform? Can't you see the general's badge on Neelan'suniform?"

Neelan raised his hands and motioned for his subordinates to keep calm. He looked at Nathanarrogantly, "I am the Major General of the North Army, a subordinate of General of the North. Myname is Neelan Coleman."

Nathan nodded but frowned almost

immediately, "You are a subordinate of the General of the North?"

Neelan put his hands behind his back and replied proudly, "That's right!”

Nathan asked, "Then why do I not recognize you?”

Neelan widened his eyes. He found Nathan's question hilarious and absurd at the same time. "I amthe subordinate of the General. Why should you know me? Who are you to say that?" Neelanasked.
