Chapter 956

After thinking about it for a while, Thea said, “Don’t worry about it for the time being. Eternality should

continue its operations as usual. I doubt Centennial Corporation will cause a storm big enough to

overthrow all of us in Cansington.”

James looked at Thea in surprise.

Thea had definitely grown leaps and bounds. Compared to before, she was much more decisive and

showed a firm resolve.

Suddenly, Lex’s phone rang forebodingly.

He answered the phone, and his wrinkled face turned ashen.

Thea grasped at his sleeve in concern. “What happened, grandpa?”

“Things have escalated on Medical Street.”

“What?!” Thea’s face hardened.

“What exactly has happened?” she asked after giving a moment to Lex to compose himself.

Lex took a deep breath and explained, “Universal Hospital has stirred up trouble again. They’re kicking

clinics and hospitals out of Medical Street. They proposed matches with well-known clinics and

hospitals, and the loser would have to close down. Those who rejected the challenge would get their

clinics or hospitals trashed by gangsters.

BAM!

Thea slammed her hands on the table and growled, “That’s insane!”

After soothing the rage in her heart, Thea turned to James.

James was leaning back on the sofa, rubbing his chin pensively.

He was trying to figure out the plan of the person who succeeded the Emperor.

‘It’d be great if Maxine was here. She would definitely be able to identify the root of the problem.’

James sighed internally.

Suddenly, he started to miss his talented young cousin from the Cadens.

“Honey, Centennial Corporation owns Universal Hospital. They’re making very bold moves in

Cansington this time. Is there something we can do about them?”

Thea needed help to come up with a countermeasure.

James gathered his thoughts and said, “What else is to do other than to put a stop to them?”

He tried to get a better picture of what was happening.

The people behind Centennial Corporation must have used unscrupulous means to carry out their

acquisitions. They either threatened or blackmailed these major groups into submission. Now their

sights were set on the Callahans.

Aside from the Callahans, James knew that other pharmaceutical groups of various sizes as well as

small-scale manufacturing factories in Cansington were also very likely being threatened to shut down.

Following that they had to shake things up in Medical Street.

Centennial Corporation’s actions could only point to one thing—they wanted to be the only

pharmaceutical group in Sol.

They wanted to have a complete monopoly over the market.

“Let’s head to Medical Street to inspect the situation first,” James suggested.

“Alright.” Thea nodded.

Lex stood up and quickly ordered, “Prepare the cars. Everyone we’re heading to Medical Street”

The Callahans all made a move to Medical Street.

On the way to Medical Street, James gave Maxine a call and explained the situation in Cansington.

“Maxine, Centennial has made their motives very clear. They’re trying to monopolize the

pharmaceutical industry. What should I do? How can I retaliate against them? I’m at a bit of a loss.”

The Capital, Cadens’ mansion.

After Maxine received James’ call, she carefully reviewed the information James was able to provide to

her. As if a lightbulb went off in her head, she suddenly responded to James, “The move by Centennial

was extremely unexpected and as a result, caught many people off guard. Seeing as they’ve done this,

there’s only one way out of this pickle, James.”

“Go ahead, I’m listening.”

Maxine explained, “Centennial Corporation has now threatened the Callahans. That means they've

also done the same to other families and pharmaceutical corporations. In doing this, they’ve essentially

made dozens of enemies overnight. You need to seize this opportunity to win over these families,

companies, and even factories. If things work out in your favor, you might even have a chance to use

them as allies to strike back against Centennial. Without anyone’s help, Messiah will fold like a house

of cards against Centennial.”

James’ spirits were lifted after listening to Maxine’s advice.

“Thank you, Maxine! Things are a lot clearer now. I think I know what I’m going to do moving forward.”

“It’s imperative that you bring them to your side before Centennial Corporation attacks and these

families, companies, and factories choose to cede to Centennial.”

“Alright, I understand! I’ll make sure to thank you in person next time I visit the Capital.”

James hung up the phone.

Maxine was an extremely astute person. Just from his simple run-down of the events, she was able to

quickly grasp the situation and point out various ways he could go about handling it. James held a lot of

respect for Maxine’s capabilities.

After hanging up the phone, Maxine took a deep breath and murmured sadly, “I don’t know if you’ll getnovelbin

your chance to thank me. Perhaps the next time you visit the Capital, I’ll have already married into the

Blithes.”
