Chapter 953

Madelyn relayed a series of drastic decisions.

First, make efforts to resume their research as soon as possible.

Second, every other pharmaceutical group apart from Centennial Corporation must be eliminated.

Third, only one medical hospital could exist on Medical Street—Universal Hospital.

Madelyn gave out her orders with swift determination. The process did not matter to her. All she cared

about was achieving the desired end result.

“Ms. Gabriel…” Jonathan stood up anxiously.

He chose his words carefully so as to not anger her. “James is in Cansington and has established

Messiah Corporation. His company has been fiercely competing with Centennial Corporation for market

share. It’s going to be an uphill battle to accomplish your goals. James is definitely going to get in our

way and interfere with our plans.”

“James…” Madelyn murmured pensively.

She had never left the Capital before, but she was keenly familiar with James’ name.

“Does he think he can stop Centennial with Messiah? We’ve got strong financial support. James, on

the other hand…his money comes from Zane Dawn. Once he’s done exhausting his hundreds of

billions, he’ll be done for. They'll naturally go bankrupt if he uses the company's funds.”

Jonathan hesitantly pointed out. “James’ medical skills are peerless. If he chooses to meddle in our

plans, it may be difficult for us to purge all the medical clinics on Medical Street.”

“I’m not asking you to handle them with legal means. I’m sure you have… other ways of dealing with

hindrances. Catch my drift?” Madelyn glanced at him knowingly.

“Okay. Understood.”

Jonathan nodded and stayed silent.

“That concludes our meeting.”novelbin

Madelyn got up and walked out of the meeting room.

Meanwhile…

James had continued reading until the dead of night.

His urge to sleep eventually overcame him and he finally set down his medical book as he let out a

tired yawn. He stood up and looked at Thea, who was already fast asleep.

Thea’s sleeping appearance was incredibly endearing to him. A faint smile graced her pretty face.

While asleep, she kicked away her blanket and exposed her neck and chest area.

She was completely naked beneath the covers.

James walked over and gently drew the covers back over her exposed body.

Thea was awoken by the sensation of the blanket moving over her skin.

Thea opened her eyes groggily and saw James turning away from her. She softly grasped his hand

and asked, “Honey, where are you going?”

Her sleepy and breathy voice tickled James’ brain.

“I-I’ll sleep on the floor,” James quickly insisted.

Perhaps he had gotten used to keeping his distance from her while he still lived with Callahans, or

maybe, there was still a line he was unwilling to cross in his heart.

Thea’s sleepiness immediately left her at that point. She rolled over and got up. Her eyes glistened with

tears as she looked at James “Honey, you still resent me, don't you? Are you angry that I used to make

you sleep on the floor?”

“That’s not it.”

“Then, join me in bed. What’s stopping you?”

James knew she would continue pleading with him about this and nodded helplessly.

He climbed into bed and lay down, facing away from Thea,

Although it was not the first time they shared a bed, there always seemed to be an unspoken rule

between them whenever they got in bed with each other. Despite having been a married couple, they

never consummated their union or showed any intimacy with one another.

Thea wrapped her hands around his waist from behind him and pressed herself tightly against his

back, whispering tantalizingly into his ears, “Honey, let’s do it. I’m ready to give myself to you. I want to

be your wife not only in name but in all other aspects as well. I want us to raise our children together.”

Thea’s biggest regret was never letting James touch her in the past despite being having been together

for a long time.

This time, she had made her decision and was ready to commit to it.

As a show of her sincerity towards him, Thea started trying to physically initiate things with James.

She wrapped her hands around James’ chest and left light kisses on his neck.

James, of course, was not immune to Thea’s actions.

However, he was intent on remaining composed and in control.

He was still uncertain about the prospects of a happy future with Thea. With this in mind, he was

reluctant to allow himself to have sex with Thea.

“Thea…”

Despite Thea’s fervent attempts to seduce him, he gently prised himself out of her embrace and turned

away. “G-Give me some more time…”

Her touch had awakened his carnal desires for her and he was at the brink of his patience. His voice

shook like a leaf in the wind.

Faced with James’ refusal, Thea’s frustrations gave way in the form of rivers of tears that rushed down

her face. She sobbed as she started to go off on him. “I-If you don’t want me anymore, you should’ve

just told me! Despite sleeping next to your wife, you’re here thinking of other women.”

“I-I’m not,” James denied weakly.
