Chapter 894

“Yeah.”

Daniel nodded and said, “I’ll send you an email immediately. Check if you’ve received it.”

He took out his phone, opened the mailbox, and sent the information to James.

“You should stop blaming yourself for what happened. It’s their duty as soldiers. Although they

sacrificed themselves, they saved your life. Now that you’ve gotten rid of the Emperor, I’m sure they

can rest in peace.”

James shook his head and said, “It’s different. They died because of my personal affairs. I owe it to

them.”

Daniel did not say anything more. He knew that it would be useless to do so.

James took out his phone and saw the email.

He opened it up and read through the profile information of the soldiers.

Then, he called Quincy.

“What’s the matter, James? Did something happen?” Quincy’s voice transmitted through the phone.

James asked, “Do you have any personal savings? Lend me some money.”

“How much?”

James quickly calculated in his mind.

To compensate each soldier ten million dollars, he would need close to five hundred million for the

families of the forty-six soldiers.

“I need about five hundred million dollars.”

“Do you think I’m an ATM? You sure are bold to ask for such a huge amount.”

“I have enough…”

Thea’s voice sounded from the phone, “Honey, I’ll transfer the money to you right away.”

In the past, James had given Thea a huge sum of money.

Now, she was beside Quincy and overheard James asking for money. Immediately, she opened her

mouth and offered the money to him.

James did not decline her offer. “Okay.”

He hung up the phone.

Thea quickly transferred the money to him.

Soon, James received a text notification from the bank.

He then carefully read through the sacrificed soldiers’ profiles and looked at the information about their

relatives.

These people came from all corners of the country.

James planned to visit them individually to compensate them for dying for him.

Although ten million dollars was not much, it was enough for their families to live without worry.

“James, are you going to find the families of these heroes one by one?” asked Maxine.

“Yeah.” James nodded and said, “They died for me when I was injured and couldn’t do much. With

everything that was going down in the Capital, I didn’t have the time to visit their families. Now that I do,

I want to prioritize doing this. Otherwise, I’d never be at ease. Let’s go. I’ll start from the ones in

Cansington.”

Following that, James went to visit the soldiers’ families.

He comforted them and offered them compensation, claiming it was a reward from the government.

In the following days, James traveled all over the country.

Five days later…

Sol, Sunleigh City, airport.

A man and a woman walked out of the airport.

James took his phone out and looked at the screen, saying, “This is the final one. The soldier’s name is

Liam. He was a talented fighter. Thea was careless and shouted in the cavern. He wanted to lure the

enemy away from her and was unfortunately shot to death.

James sighed.novelbin

If Thea had not shouted, he could have waited for an opportunity to kill the enemies.

Liam would not have died.

In the past few days, Maxine learned about the things that happened to James.

“You shouldn’t blame her. She’s just an ordinary person, and, understandably, she would’ve been

frightened in that situation.”

“Is that so?”

“Yeah.” Maxine nodded.

She had been with James for the past few days and inquired about Thea.

James did not hide things from her.

Maxine found out that Thea had suffered for ten years because of James.

“Ten years ago, she was only a teenager. She was brave enough to jump into the fire to rescue you. I

would’ve never risked my life to save a stranger in that situation. She’s endured many hardships and

the ridicule of others, so she’d inevitably change.”

James sighed. “Yeah. She did suffer a lot.”

Maxine continued, “One’s family greatly influences one’s character. She’s from the Callahans and

would more or less be influenced by them. You said she loves money and was in love with the hero,

the Black Dragon, but aren’t you the reason for that? If you had told her the truth earlier, none of these

things would’ve happened. Plus, is there a woman who doesn’t love money? Is there a woman who

doesn’t love a hero?”
