Chapter 892

“Uhm…”novelbin

Thea was stunned.

She could not find the right words to give them an answer.

After a momentary silence, she smiled and said, “I heard there was a beautiful woman from the Cadens

called Maxine. Seeing her today, she does live up to her reputation.”

“You’ve heard about me?” Maxine wore a doubtful expression.

Apart from some families who practiced martial arts, not many people in the Capital knew about her.

Who did Thea hear about her from?

James, on the other hand, dropped the issue. He looked at Thea and asked, “Why are you here?”

Thea said with a smile, “Tiara is an employee of yours and a servant of the Callahans. She got hurt

because of you, so it shouldn’t be strange for me to come and check on her, right?”

James glanced at Quincy.

Quincy shrugged and said, “Don’t look at me. I didn’t say anything.”

Saying that, she approached James and whispered, “She disappeared for a few days and came back

as a completely different person.”

“Really?” James looked at Thea with suspicion.

He also could sense that Thea seemed a little unusual but could not pinpoint what was different about

her.

“Why are you worrying about me? Tiara’s discharged. Let’s go out and celebrate.” Thea smiled brightly.

“Forget it. I’ve got other stuff to deal with.” James wanted to look for the deceased soldiers’ family

members and compensate them appropriately. Otherwise, he would never get over his guilt.

He looked at Tiara and said, “After you’re discharged, you should go to Cynthia’s place for a while.”

James turned to Quincy and asked, “How’s Cynthia doing? She didn’t fall sick while I was gone, right?”

Quincy shook her head and said, “Not for the time being. However, I can see that she’s getting weaker.

I went to her house last night. She had the A/C on the highest temperature but still had to wear thick

clothes. She seemed afraid of the cold.”

“I’ll go and check on her.”

Before, James had no way of curing Cynthia. He could only use medicines to temporarily treat her.

However, having gone through the second volume of the medical book, he had now mastered the

Crucifier and was confident in curing her.

“Alright.” Quincy nodded.

James inquired, “How’s the situation with the company? Also, how’s Centennial Corporation doing?”

Quincy replied, “Centennial Corporation has been growing rapidly even after the Emperor’s death. New

medications are being launched consecutively. Messiah has also been developing well, but we’ve only

launched one drug.”

“Centennial Corporation is still growing fast?” James frowned.

‘The emperor had been in charge of its operations all along. Now that he’s dead, did Mr. Gabriel find a

replacement already?’ James softly massaged his temples.

As long as the mastermind behind the Emperor was still alive, those people would never stop trying to

accomplish their plan.

The death of the Emperor was not anything to stop them.

Quincy continued, “Major consortiums have been really active in their operations recently. Oceanic

Commerce has been causing quite a lot of commotion after establishing Oceanic Pharmaceuticals.

“Meanwhile, the construction of New City in the suburbs has been progressing smoothly, and it seems

that large investments are being poured into it. The Five Provinces Business Alliance has also been

widely promoting the Transgenerational New City. Meanwhile, old-timers like Celestial and Longevity

have been relatively quiet, seemingly watching the situation.”

“Alright.” James nodded lightly.

Celestial and Longevity were industrial giants owned by families from the Capital. Now that the

situation was a mess, they were waiting for everything to unfold before taking action.

Oceanic Commerce and the Five Provinces Business Alliance must also have people from the Capital

backing them up.

Maxine was unfamiliar with Cansington’s situation, so she remained silent and listened attentively.

“James, honey, I think I can help you. I’m not too far off from Quincy, and she definitely won’t be able to

manage such a large group alone,” Thea stood up and suggested.

James glanced at Quincy again.

Quincy shrugged and said, “If I told you I didn’t say anything to her, would you believe me?”

James looked at Thea and asked doubtfully, “ You seem to know about everything?”
