Chapter 877

At that moment, a crazy thought flashed through James’ mind.

Forcing True Energy to move in a retrograde motion caused irreversible damage to his body. He

collapsed to the ground and vomited blood non-stop.

Blood oozed out from his body and made contact with the ancient scroll and the Moonlit Flowers on

Cliffside’s Edge.

At that moment, something in the painting changed.

Right when he was on the verge of losing consciousness, James saw the full moon disappear and the

white flower wither. They were replaced by a scorching sun. Illuminated by the sunlight, the scenery

changed, and a few words appeared in the woods.

“What…” James was stunned.

He opened his eyes wide and stared at the words in the painting.

Though the words were in ancient script used thousands of years ago, James recognized them. He

etched them in his mind.

Then, he fainted.

The bloodstain on the Moonlit Flowers on Cliffside’s Edge disappeared, and the painting returned to

normal.

After some time, Maxine walked in.

The moment she entered the basement, she saw James lying in a pool of blood. The ancient scroll was

soaked in his blood, turning completely red. Only the painting was untouched.

She hurriedly made her way over to James and crouched down beside him. “James…”

However, James did not reply.

She hurriedly went and inspected his injuries. Sensing that he was in danger, she quickly carried him

out of the basement.

“Grandpa!” She cried out.

Whoosh!

Tobias appeared out of thin air. Looking at the bloodied James, he asked, “What happened?”

Maxine hurriedly explained, “I don’t know either. When I entered the basement, I saw him lying in a

pool of blood. I’ve inspected his injuries. I’m sure he’s in mortal danger.”

“Bring him to the room.”novelbin

“Understood.”

Maxine carried James into a room.

In the room, Tobias inspected James’ injuries. Subsequently, his face darkened. “What the hell did he

do? How did he get so badly injured?”

“Can he be saved, grandpa?” Maxine was anxious.

“I’ll try.”

Tobias got onto the bed and sat in a lotus position. Then, pressing his hands against James’ chest, he

applied a great suction force. James’ body immediately jolted upright, assuming a lotus position. Then,

Tobias raised his hands and applied True Energy to James’ back to heal his injuries.

Just a few minutes in and Tobias was completely drenched in sweat.

He stopped, and James’ body went limp.

Maxine asked, “How is he?”

Tobias shook his head and sighed. “His injuries are too serious. I can’t save him. He’ll die in the next

three days.”

“What?” Maxine’s face paled. “What should we do, then?”

Tobias said, “He must have forcibly moved True Energy in a retrograde motion according to the

meridian diagram. His organs have ruptured…”

Saying that, he frowned.

“Didn’t his True Energy already disperse? How could he still catalyze it?” Tobias looked at Maxine.

She shook her head. “I-I don’t know either.”

“This guy…” Tobias sighed. “He had a chance to live, but he just had to get himself killed.”
