When she heard his name, Thea’s face distorted into a scowl. “Mr. Caden, there’s no need to defend
him. I’m extremely disappointed that he committed such an atrocious crime.”
Thea had been reading dating tips. One must never bring up her ex-boyfriend or former spouse in front
of one’s lover to keep them from feeling insecure. She would have to belittle James as much as
possible.
“I wouldn’t have to worry about him if he had a fraction of your capabilities. Forget about him. Mr.
Caden, what happened at Mt. Thunder Pass? Why did the news report you as dead even though
you’re still alive?”
James did not wish engage with her questions.
He wanted to stand up for himself. However, Thea seemed to have already deemed him a
reprehensible man.
