Chapter 2347

After hearing Marcello's words, James was filled with dread.

He was responsible for Lucifer's resurrection. The Elysian Inscription appeared specifically for Lucifer's sake. It was plain to see that Lucifer was meant to be Earth's Second Calamity.

Is killing Lucifer the only way to avert the catastrophe?

James asked the question in his heart.

"Ha!" Marcello laughed lightly and said, "You're too naive, James. Kill him? How are you going to manage that? Don't you understand who's backing him up? It's the Hadean Clan. Although they don't have a Grand Emperor right now, there are Quasi-Emperors among their ranks."

"Then what should we do?" asked James.

Marcello shook her head and said "I don't know either. It depends on Lucifer's plans after he obtains the Elysian Inscription. The bottom line is, regardless of what he want to do, no one on Earth can really stand against him."

Hearing this, James went silent.

The lizard drawing the carriage continued to glide swiftly through the sky.

In the blink of an eye, half a day passed.

The beast carriage appeared above the ocean.

The two passed by a variety of beasts along the way. There were cows with wings and giants ants with bodies tens of meters long. All these different kinds of beasts appeared around the island's vicinity.

They also spotted a few humans. In comparison, the humans only formed a small minority among the beings on the island.

Soon, an island appeared in sight.

It was an enormous island. At a glance, James could see towering mountains and countless beasts.

The beast carriage hovered outside the island. Marcello stood in the carriage and looked at the distant island, saying "Many beasts are gathered there. It should be the place I'm looking for."

James nodded. "Mhm."novelbin

Marcello effortlessly flicked her wrist. The huge lizard and carriage instantly dissapeared.

James was unsurprised by the sight since Marcello was a pivotal member of the Demon Race. Having a magical item similar to the Celestial Abode would not be entirely unexpected of her.

He his mask back on.

"Let's go have a look."

Marcello took the lead, making a beeline to the island ahead of them. James followed behind her. Soon, they reached the island.

James immediately felt intense pressure upon stepping onto the island. It felt like a mountain was crushing him. His knees bent, and he almost fell to the ground.

Marcello turned around and looked at James, who had a pained expression She asked, "What's wrong?"

James gritted his teeth and said with difficulty, "There's extreme pressure here."

"Pressure? Why don't I feel anything?"

Marcello was puzzled because she was completely fine. After thinking for a while, she suddenly came to a realization and said, "I see. The Elysian Inscription must be on this island. It's ineffective on non-human races but naturally repels humans."

Unable to resist the pressure, James chose to retreat.

Sure enough, the pressure dissipated after he left the island's immediate vicinity.

James wiped off the sweat on his forehead. He looked at Marcello and said, "You're right. It seems the Elysian Inscription on the island is preventing me from stepping foot on the island. Since I'm unable to proceed, I can't accompany you. You should go ahead."

"Alright," Marcello nodded.

She turned and walked to the island.

Meanwhile, James walked away from the island.

More and more beasts began appearing in the area. At the same time, some humans also arrived on the island. Just like James, they felt a crushing pressure on their bodies as soon as they stepped on the island.

Ultimately, they moved away for the time being and watched from the island's outskirts.

James remained away from the island, but his eyes were fixed on it. He saw tens of thousands of beings gathering on the island. All of them were non-human races.

He waited for three days.

Three days later, a shimmering golden ray of light shot up into the sky.
