Chapter 2209

Though his physical strength was at the Immortal Ascension’s First Stair, his rank had notincreased. In fact, he was only at the Herculean Fifth Layer.

After fighting against the beast to evaluate his current strength, James hurriedly made his way overto Doncaster City.

For the next three days, James was on the move.

Three days later, he arrived at his destination.

As he left the mountain range, a huge city a thousand years old appeared before him. Its walls werehundreds of meters high, and they were constructed from grey granite. Outside the walls, therewere many armor-clad guards armed with swords garrisoned.

The words ‘Doncaster City’ were carved onto the city gate.

As James gazed at the city before him, he murmured, “This should be Doncaster City, the core cityof Doncaster. I wonder if the Welkin Academy is still admitting disciples. I hope I can make it.”

James had nowhere to go in this foreign land. Since the Welkin Academy was the strongest in theAncient Realm, he might be able to receive its protection in the future by becoming its disciple.

Besides, he also learned that the Welkin Academy had bad blood with the Divinity Sect. This wasthe reason Melany came here.

James walked through the busy streets teeming with people. On both sides of the street, manycultivators were selling weapons, elixirs, and cultivation methods.

After entering the city, James grabbed a random person and asked, “Excuse me, I heard that theWelkin Academy is admitting new disciples in Doncaster City. May I know where should I go?”

The person glanced at James. When he saw his travel-weary look, he immediately knew Jamescame from a foreign land. Pointing in a direction, he said, “They’re currently registering at the CityLord’s Mansion. Make haste! Today’s the last day of registration. If you miss this, you’ll have to waitfor another ten years.”novelbin

“Thanks!”

Then, James immediately made haste.

Soon, he arrived at the City Lord’s Mansion. Many people were gathered outside.

In front of James were a few tables, and many youngsters were registering their names on a pieceof paper. Meanwhile, there was a long queue at the back. Everyone came here from afar to becomea disciple of the Welkin Academy.

James moved to the back of the queue. After three hours of waiting, it was finally his turn.

“Name, age, and address.”

There was a woman wearing a white dress, on which the words ‘Welkin Academy’ were written. Shedid not even lift her head to glance at James.

“James, thirty-six, rogue cultivator, no established residence,” James answered truthfully.

The woman noted down everything.

After the registration was done, she said coolly, “Alright, you are now registered. Gather outside thecity gate tomorrow morning.”

Then, James turned to leave.

For the time being, he planned to stay in an inn temporarily. However, when he arrived at the inn, herealized that spiritual crystals were the only means of currency in the Ancient Realm. Meanwhile, hehad zero spiritual crystals on him.

Unwillingly, he left the city and headed into a forest before entering the Celestial Abode.

In the Celestial Abode’s courtyard, James and Henry met up.

Henry knew of James’ current circumstances. As they drank, Henry asked, “James, what do youplan to do next?”

James took a sip of his wine and said, “What else can I do? With my current strength, I won’t beable to return to Earth. For now, I plan to remain hidden in the Ancient Realm. Once I gain enoughstrength, I’ll return to Earth.”

“What about Thea and Winnie?” Henry asked.

Upon hearing this, James’ expression turned grim.
