Chapter 2098

Thea grabbed James’ arm tightly. At that moment, she simply wished to face the current adversityalongside him. She believed everything would turn out fine in the end.

“Mhm.”

James nodded.novelbin

This time, they did not take Winnie along but instead left her with the Callahans. Sol wascomparatively peaceful at the moment. As such, leaving her behind in Cansington would be asound choice. Although they were reluctant to part ways with her, they had no other choice.

A day later, James and Thea arrived at Wyrmstead.

At Wyrmstead Palace, James summoned the Celestial Abode and called for the Blithe King, Henry, and Delainey Cabral. Alongside Wyrmstead’s Elite Eight, Blake Davis, Quincy, and the others, thesenior authorities of Wyrmstead gathered for a meeting.

Sitting in the main seat, James said with a solemn expression on his face, “I established Wyrmsteadto prepare for the Calamity. I thought we’d have a few years to go. I didn’t expect it to happen sosoon.”

“Blake, how’s the situation around the world at the moment?”

James asked.

At that moment, he knew nothing about what was going on outside. Blake, as one of the people incharge of Wyrmstead, had a clearer view of what was happening.

Blake stepped forward and said, “The situation is dire. Last night’s rain destroyed crops all aroundthe world. Besides, there’s a terrifying virus in the rain droplets. About eighty percent of those who

came into contact with the rain have contracted the virus.

“Some experienced mild symptoms, whereas others lost their lives. Some died over the span of afew short hours. As of now, around fifty million have perished.

“I have to add that this figure is based on conservative estimates. As many regions have yet toreport any figures, the situation could be worse than we think. Perhaps one hundred million mayhave already died.

“At the moment, the world is in chaos.”

Blake said grimly.

He briefly described the aftermath of the rainfall.

Upon hearing this, James’ expression turned unusually grim.

It appeared that the custodian was right. More than a third of humanity would perish.

It was a horrifying figure.

May Caden asked, “What should we do now, James?”

James thought about it and said, “This is a natural catastrophe, and there’s nothing much we can doexcept wait.”

James summoned the persons in charge of Wyrmstead and organized a meeting.

He mentioned a few points.

One, they should save as many lives as possible.

Two, they should tell the public the truth about this phenomenon.

Three, they should disclose the secrets of cultivation methods and allow everyone to cultivate. Thatwas the only way for humanity to survive this catastrophe.

After the meeting, James personally called Langston, Thomas, Sky, and the King of Sol and toldthem about his plans to have everyone cultivate.

Everyone agreed with his plan.

After notifying the other heads of state, James breathed a sigh of relief. This was the most he coulddo to help.
