Chapter 2013

The shadow was the Spirit Tool of the Celestial Abode. In modern terms, it would be something akinto an artificial intelligence robot. Though it was not a living being, it had a consciousness, whichallowed him to converse with humans.

The shadow looked at them once more and shook its head slightly while sighing, “It appears thatMaster must have set the designated time wrongly. Who the hell are these people? With how weakthey are, how are they qualified to obtain his inheritance?”

Hearing this, the Son of Heaven panicked.

“Although I’m currently still weak, I possess enormous potential. If I can obtain the Celestial Abodeand the inheritance left behind by the Primordials, I’d certainly prove my worth.”

The others argued as well.

“Pick me!”

“I have potential too! If I’m allowed to have the Celestial Abode, I’ll surely be the greatest in theworld.”

“Please consider me, Sir!”

The Overworld Outsiders stepped forward and voiced their thoughts.

James, on the other hand, remained silent. That was because he believed he would not stand achance.novelbin

The shadow spoke, “Since I’ve emerged from my slumber, I ought to follow Master’s wishes andselect a new owner of the Celestial Abode.”

Upon hearing this, the crowd was overjoyed.

The shadow continued, “However, I won’t be the judge to determine your worth. Long ago, mymaster set up nine barriers. Those who manage to pass the nine barriers shall be the new owner ofthe Celestial Abode.”

Upon hearing this, James regained his confidence. He might stand a chance in a fair fight.

He looked at Xandra and said, “Mount Bane is dangerous. You should return to Lothian for now andstay safe. Once everything here’s resolved, I’ll return to find you and purify your Demonic Energy.”

Xandra nodded and looked at him, saying, “Be careful, alright?”

“I will.”

Then, Xandra left.

More and more Overworld Outsiders appeared before the Celestial Abode. There were nowapproximately 3000 people. Since they traversed through the seal to arrive on Earth, they must betop-notch fighters.

Meanwhile, the numbers kept increasing.

The shadow waited patiently.

Ten minutes passed, and the mountain was full of people.

There were now around ten thousand people, and almost all of them came from the Overworld. Most were humans, but there were also some beast-like creatures amongst the crowd. Only byconsuming a transformation elixir could they transform their appearance into a human.

Even Marcello who had just left Mount Bane hurriedly made his way back upon sensing thecommotion.

Upon seeing the sheer number of the crowd, the shadow stepped forward and said, “Long ago, mymaster set up nine barriers and instructed me to activate them upon the Celestial Abode’semergence. Only those who pass the nine barriers can become the new owner of the CelestialAbode.”

The Son of Heaven stepped forward and asked, “But what if more than one person passes the ninebarriers?”

The shadow replied, “In that case, the first to pass shall be the owner of the Celestial Abode. Pleaseenter, everyone.”

It beckoned.

Then, the door opened, and a blinding golden light emerged from within.

The Son of Heaven was the first to enter, while the others followed close behind.

James, meanwhile, remained rooted to the spot. Looking at the golden courtyard inside theCelestial Abode, he murmured, “Can everyone fit inside the venue?”

However, more and more people kept pouring in.

Soon, thousands were already inside.

Puzzled, he was the last to enter.

After everyone entered the Celestial Abode, he stepped forward. As he crossed into the goldenlight, the scene before him changed abruptly. He was now on the peak of a mountain.

There were all kinds of flora there, and mysterious berries that exuded an alluring fragrance onevery tree.

“What?”

James was stunned.
