Chapter 1949

In the past few days, Henry used all of Dragonville’s connections along with Sol’s help, and he wasfinally able to find Winnie’s whereabouts.

Now, it would only take two hours to rescue Winnie.

James only needed to buy them two hours.

Two hours later, this entire debacle would finally be over.

James calmly ended the call.

At that moment, Sky held onto his long sword in the Floret Palace’s main hall and looked at Maxine.

Maxine’s long hair danced in the air. She casually waved her hand, and a black sword zoomed toher from the outside. She caught the sword, and it trembled as she pointed it at Sky.

“Leave!”

Sky’s eyes were still on Maxine.

He was heartbroken.

For all the years he had lived, he never had feelings for any woman.

He once assisted Lance in conquering and establishing Sol.

Even when he stood at the peak of power and influence, there was no woman that could catch hisintention. After getting to know Maxine, he eventually fell in love.

He did not even hesitate to hand over Tacriyrus to her.

“Get lost!!!”

Maxine’s shrieks resounded in the main hall.

However, Sky walked toward her slowly.

At that moment, Maxine thrust her sword forward.

Shluk!

The Doomsday Sword pierced through Sky’s body.

Sky’s cultivation base was much stronger than Maxine's.

He had already broken free from one shackle in the ninth rank, whereas Maxine had not evenreached the ninth rank yet. Despite that, he did not dodge Maxine’s attack.

The black sword pierced into his body, and blood gushed out of the wound.

All the martial artists gathered in the main hall watched the scene unfold as if the two were simplyputting on a show. No one stepped in to interfere.

James' brows slightly furrowed together.

Maxine remained emotionless as she withdrew her sword.

Shluk!

Blood splattered across the ground.

Sky’s body collapsed to the floor, but he forced himself to stand up again. He reached out to coverthe wound on his body, but blood continued to pour out, staining his palm red and running down

from his fingers.

Unable to stand the sight, James walked over and said, “Are you stupid? Why didn’t you dodge it?”

James attempted to step over the bleeding, but Sky pushed him away.

“I don’t need your help.”

He parted his lips and refused James’ help.

Sky looked at Maxine and said slowly, “Your sword pierced through my body and at the same time,it destroyed my love for you. My concern and possessiveness over you no longer exist.”

Maxine looked at him without saying a word.

She did not feel anything despite Sky’s injured state.

Sky meant nothing to her. She approached him merely to use him. Initially, she wanted to use Skyto cause trouble for James, but she hardly did anything. Even when she did, it was never anythingmajor.

After speaking, Sky turned around with his long sword and dragged his injured body away.novelbin

Maxine glanced at the guests in the hall, and the scowl on her face disappeared instantly. Shebeamed with a bright smile and said, “I’m sorry for subjecting you all to such a dreadful scene. Thewedding shall continue as planned now that the shameful display is done with.”

She still wanted to marry James.

This was the closest she had gotten to having James for herself in so many years. Thus, she wasnot willing to give up so easily.

“That’s enough, Maxine. Let’s end this.”

James looked at Maxine and uttered softly.

Maxine’s face darkened. She stared at James and said dangerously, “What do you mean, James? What are we ending?”

James said, “Cancel the wedding.”

“You…”

Maxine stared at James, and her blood began to boil with rage.

“I’ll give you one more chance to tell me Winnie’s whereabouts.”

James asked one more time.

He wanted to give Maxine a last chance.
