Chapter 1918

The custodian thought about it and said, “In that case, follow me.”

She turned and entered through the door, while the Omniscient Deity and James followed closebehind.

Though Thea was still confined in the cage, the blood within her body had calmed down. When shesaw James after regaining consciousness, she cried out, “Darling!”

She wanted to head over to his side. However, the moment she approached the cage, sheunconsciously staggered backward as if jolted by a lightning bolt.

“I…” James glanced at Thea before looking at the woman pleadingly, saying, “Could you release mywife?”

The woman waved her arm, and powerful energy gathered in her palm. Then, in an instant, thecage disappeared without a trace.

James was dumbfounded. What sorcery was this?

Thea rushed over to James, who grabbed her hand.

James looked at the woman and asked, “Does she really have to stay here?”

The woman nodded grimly and said, “This is for her own good. By remaining here, I can purify theDemonic Energy inside her body.”

James asked, “How long do you need then?”

“I can’t be sure about that. Maybe a couple of years, perhaps?”

“What?”

Confused, Thea asked, “What’s wrong, Darling?”

James said, “She’s the custodian of the Chamber of Scriptures on Earth. She said that the DemonicEnergy inside your body is too overwhelming. That’s why you need to remain here so that she couldpurify the Demonic Energy inside your body.”

Hearing this, Thea furrowed her eyebrows.novelbin

The woman then told her about the severity of the situation.

“Thea, was it? The Demonic Energy inside your body currently has little effect on you. However, asyour cultivation base increases, the more prominent the adverse effects will be. In the future, you’llbe devoured by your Demonic Energy and become a machine that lives only to slaughter humans.

“That’s why you have to stay here.”

Thea was reluctant to part ways with James. However, the situation was grim, and she did not to befalsely accused of being a demon. Clenching James’ hand tightly, she consoled him, “Everything’sgonna be fine, Darling. As immortals, this is but a short and insignificant period of our lives.”

Since Thea had decided to stay, the woman breathed a sigh of relief. With Thea’s cooperation, things would go much smoother.

Then, she waved her arm, and a piece of bluestone appeared in the middle of the first story of thetower. The bluestone was about two meters in height and greenish in color. There were alsomysterious characters inscribed on the stone.

“What is this?” the three asked in unison.

The woman said, “This is an aptitude stone that can evaluate your potential by pressing your palmsagainst its surface. Different results will grant you access to different stories inside the tower. If you

don’t have potential, you won’t be able to receive any cultivation methods since you aren’tacknowledged by the Chamber of Scriptures.

“If your potential is sufficiently enormous, you might be granted access to the ninth story of thetower. The cultivation methods there are some of the most advanced and unrivaled that were leftbehind by mankind’s ancestors. Each and every martial art skill there is unique.

“As now’s not yet the time, I was initially reluctant to grant you passage. However, since you’re here,I might as well let you test things out a little. Of course, my congratulations should you obtain thecultivation manuals. However, in the event that you fail to gain anything, do not be dismayed. TheChamber of Scriptures is, after all, a place specially prepared for the brightest and most talentedindividuals. Not everyone can be acknowledged, unfortunately.”

Hearing this, the three were intrigued.

James pushed Thea gently and said, “Why don’t you give it a try, Darling?”

Thea was thrilled as she knew she possessed great potential.

Were the claims true, though? Would she be acknowledged by the Chamber of Scriptures and begranted a cultivation manual?

With nervousness, she slowly walked toward the bluestone.
