Chapter 1137

James' face immediately darkened.

He knew something was wrong when he answered the phone.

“Honey, what should we do?” Thea was anxious.

At this moment, James received a video file. He opened the file and began watching it. A number of

people appeared in the video.

They were Quincy, Tiara and Cynthia, as well as Lex, Benjamin, and David Callahan, all tied up.

The scene shifted.

An unknown man appeared in the video. He was wearing a black hood and his face was obscured.

“James, if you want them to live, come to Mt. Thunder.”

That was the end of the video.

James clenched his fists. Veins were bulging on his arms.

With a worried expression, Thea firmly grasped James' hand. “Honey…”

James gave a slight wave of his hand and said, “Thea, don’t worry. It should be fine.”

Even though James did not know who had taken them, he had a rough idea of what they were after.

Today, he had made an attack on the Tuckson family. That was the beginning of a major meltdown. A

number of people were getting anxious.

The purpose of capturing Quincy, the Callahans, and the others was to lure him away so that he couldnovelbin

not deal with the issues in the Capital.

Thea's beautiful face was filled with concern. “Why did they take my grandfather? Why did they take

my father and brother? Have they been brought to Mt. Thunder?” she asked.

“What’s the matter?”

At this moment, Maxine walked out. She had just returned to her room and changed her clothes when

she felt a rush of powerful energy sweep over her. She did not even have time to change out of her

pajamas.

James sat on the sofa, took a cigarette, and lit it.

“Quincy, Cynthia, Tiara, and the Callahans have been abducted. The enemy informed me that I need to

get to Mount Thunder quickly if I want them to stay alive.”

“What?”

Maxine also turned pale.

She walked over and sat down.

“Quincy and the others, including the Callahans, were all secretly protected by the elites of the God-

King Palace, yet they were still abducted. This can only mean that the person who made the attack is

extremely powerful. Besides, they even told you to go to Mt. Thunder. It's clear that they’re trying to

lead you away and stop you from interfering in the affairs of the Capital.”

“Yes.” James nodded.

Thea was a bit anxious. “Are Grandfather and the others really not in danger?” she asked.

“In theory, there is no danger. The reason these people took action was that they could no longer hold

back after James had affected some individuals' interests. There's no way this is being done by the

Tucksons, I'm guessing. The Tuckson family is merely an ordinary family. Despite having money and

connections, they lack ancient martial artists and the ability to command them. This is most likely done

by members of the Gu Sect,” said Maxine.

When he heard that, James frowned. “The Gu Sect. Was it the Gu Sect's Supreme Leader who made

the move?”

Maxine shook her head slightly and said, “It shouldn't be, based on how things appear right now. Gu

Sect is a faction. It’s far more complicated than we realize. James, what you can do now is to set aside

the issues of the Capital for the time being and go to Mt. Thunder. It won't be long until the Mount

Thunder Conference. If you get there quickly, you will not only be able to save them, but you’ll also be

able to attend the Mount Thunder Conference.”

James had already made up his mind to go to Mt. Thunder.

He could not possibly turn his back on Quincy, Cynthia, and the others.

These people would die if he carried on with his actions.

Maxine gave it a thought and said, “How about this? Tomorrow morning, we'll depart from the Capital

together for Mount Thunder.”

“Okay.”

James nodded and said, “Right now, things in the Capital are a little chaotic. People are feeling

anxious. Before I leave, I need to give a few instructions.”

“Go on, then. I’m going back to my room to take a shower and sleep.”

Maxine stood up again and turned to leave.

James looked at Thea whose face was filled with anxiety and consoled her. “Thea, don’t worry. It’ll be

alright. They just don’t want me to attack these people in the Capital. As long as I don’t take action right

now and rush to Mt. Thunder, the Callahans will be alright.”
