Chapter 1118

“But I didn’t buy anything.”

Knock! Knock! Knock!

“Open the door.”

The knock grew louder, and the people outside began kicking the door.

At that moment, Jeanne Lynch realized that something was wrong. She thought that the debt collectors

were there. Holding a broom in her hand, she was nervous.

“What should I do?”

Just as she was at a loss, the men outside kicked down the door and rushed in.

One of them compared Jeanne with a photo and yelled, “She’s Xavion Zachary’s wife! Get her!”

A few honchos rushed in and forcibly dragged Jeanne outside.

“What are you doing? Let me go!”

Jeanne struggled with all her might. However, she could not break free.

Slap!

One of the honchos slapped across the face and yelled, “Shut up, b*tch!”

Jeanne could feel a searing pain on her cheek. She pleaded, “Please let me go. I really have no

money.”

“Shut the f*ck up. Take her away.”

“Got it.”

Jeanne was forcibly dragged away. This was an ancient building with no elevators, so they could onlynovelbin

use the stairs.

James followed close behind Delilah.

“This is the place, James.”

The moment they reached the seventh floor, Delilah pointed at the unit where she was currently staying

at. However, all she could see was her mother being forcibly dragged away.

Upon seeing Delilah, Jeanne screamed, “Run, Delilah!”

Delilah momentarily froze before grabbing James’ hand and pleading, “James, please save my

mother.”

James waved his hand. “Leave it all to me.”

He swiftly walked over to the group of men. Seeing this, one of the honchos pulled out a knife and

threatened James, “F*ck off…”

Before he could finish his sentence, he had a clear look at James’ face. At that moment, his face paled

and he began shivering in fear.

“E-Emperor…” the group of men exclaimed.

The man in the lead knelt before James and the others immediately followed suit.

“Mom.” Delilah hurriedly walked over to Jeanne and asked, “Are you alright?”

“I-I’m fine…” Jeanne shook her head. Then, she looked at James puzzledly and asked, “What’s going

on, Delilah? Y-You know the Emperor?”

Delilah explained, “Mom, he’s a comrade of dad. I met him in the Southern Plains.”

“Oh.”

Meanwhile, James looked at the men kneeling on the ground and asked coldly, “Who ordered you to

capture them?”

“I-It’s the Tucksons… They spread the word that we would receive 10 million dollars if we could capture

them,” the man in the lead stammered, his teeth chattering.

“Very well.” James’ expression darkened. Then, he turned to look at Delilah and Jeanne and said, “In

that case, follow them to the Tucksons. I’ll be there shortly. I’m curious to see what the Tucksons are

planning to do in the Capital.”

“Huh?” Jeanne was hesitant.

Delilah said, “Mom, the Emperor knew what was going on with our family. He has investigated the

reason behind the bankruptcy of Xavion’s company. Let’s just do as he says. Everything will be alright.”
