Chapter 1067

“Good morning, Soleans. Thank you for tuning into Sol's Morning News Channel.

“This morning the King of Sol held a meeting in the General Assembly Hall. Let’s take a look at some

footage of the meeting.”

In the video, the King was dressed in a black suit with his hair combed back neatly. He faced the

camera and announced, “Some time ago, the Emperor who also held the position as commander of the

Red Flame Army, committed a serious crime and was stripped of his title. After long and careful

consideration from all members of the parliament, James, the commander of the Black Dragon Army,

has now been appointed as the new commander of the Red Flame Army.”

The footage also clearly showed the three parties stamping their seals on the official appointment

document.

The news shocked the whole nation.

“What happened?”

“Why did James suddenly become the commander of the Red Flame Army?”

“Wasn’t he demoted?”

“Is this his comeback?”

All major military and tabloid forums were discussing the topic of James’ succession.

Soon, the country held another press conference and announced that James had always been the

commander of the Black Dragon Army, and was responsible for investigating the Emperor as well as

executing him.

People across the nation cheered and talked animatedly about the news.

Soon, the appointment letter was sent to James.

James looked at the appointment letter, and a hint of a smile flashed across his face.

Maxine beamed proudly at him. “Congratulations, James. From today on, you’ll be the commander of

two armies and also the most powerful man in the whole country. Tsk, tsk. Now that you’re the

commander of the Black Dragon Army and Red Flame Army, you could seize the Capital in minutes if

you combine both forces. It’ll also be a piece of cake for you to storm into the Peace Mansion and force

the King to give up his position.”

James rolled his eyes and reminded her, “Careful what you say, Maxine. What you’re suggesting is

treason.”

“I’m just joking. It’s no big deal.”

Maxine continued to smile cheerily. “If you use this opportunity to win over the people’s hearts and

resign from your position as the commander to enter politics, the position of King is guaranteed to be

yours after the election one year from now.”

“I’m not interested.” James shook his head and immediately shot down her idea.

By regular convention, members of the military are not eligible for election.novelbin

The candidates for the King had always been from the political world.

The current King of Sol was re-elected and had been in power for over 30 years.

The thought never crossed James’ mind and he was not interested in the position either.

If not for the tenuous state of the country’s affairs, he would not even want to be the commander of the

Black Dragon Army. He preferred his carefree life in Cansington when he married into the Callahans

and did not have to worry about national affairs.

“I need to pay the Red Flame Army base a visit.”

He had been barred from entering the Red Flame Army base the previous day.

That’s why, he wanted to go again today.

Thea asked, “Do you want me to go with you?”

James refused her offer. “No need. You stay right here with your peace of mind. If you can, use the

God-King Palace’s network to get information about Madelyn’s research facilities abroad. After we

confirm the location and I get information on Mr. Gabriel’s whereabouts, we can spring into action

simultaneously.”

Thea nodded. “Alright. I’ll pass on the order to use the God-King Palace’s entire intelligence network to

investigate.”

James was relieved to have the God-King Palace on his side.

Now he had three forces investigating the matter simultaneously—the Dark Castle, Dragon Palace, and

God-King Palace.

With all three investigating the topic at once, they would surely find the research facilities evetually no

matter how carefully Madelyn had hidden them.

James did not say anything more and turned to leave.

As soon as he walked out of the Emperor’s Mansion, he saw countless luxurious cars parked nearby

and numerous wealthy figures standing in front of the vehicles.

The cheapest car among them costs at least tens of millions. Additionally, many limited edition vehicles

parked outside were worth a range of tens of millions to even hundreds of millions.

Seeing the luxurious cars in the distance, James smirked internally.

He had expected this to happen.

Once the news was announced, countless influential families in the Capital would try to get in his good

books.

James put his hands in his pocket and strode over in a relaxed manner.
