Chapter 1038

A surge of powerful force jolted Gloom, forcing his body seven to eight meters backward.

His arms were tingly and numb. On them, blue veins were bulging. He had a shocked expression on

his face. “You… Your strength?”

James took in his True Energy and glanced at Gloom. “What are you doing? Are you trying to sneak up

on me or is this just a test?” he said casually.

Gloom circulated his energy, and the pain in his arms started to fade gradually. He then put his hands

behind his back, stared at James, and slowly approached him. He only smiled and spoke when he

finally stood in front of James. “I was curious as to what rank your cultivation base had advanced to. As

far as I can tell, you must have had some exciting adventures recently. Could it be that you’ve got

Moonlit Flowers on Cliffside's Edge all figured out now?”

Even though Gloom was grinning, the shock and astonishment he felt had not subsided.

His cultivation base was at the fifth rank. Although his strength would not be regarded as invincible or

unmatched, he was undoubtedly very powerful in situations where the older generation did not

intervene.

However, he was forced back when his palm struck James’ just now. He felt a tingling and numbness in

his jolted arms. The energy and blood in his body were erratic.

James, on the other hand, stood perfectly still and did not even flinch. It proved that James' strengthnovelbin

had already surpassed his.

Phew!

Above the fifth rank?

He found that hard to believe. How did James' strength grow to be so powerful in such a short period of

time?

Did he fully understand Moonlit Flowers on Cliffside's Edge, or did his strength increase exponentially

as a result of some fortunate encounter?

James gave a faint smile and said, “Lucky for me. I was injured before at the Cadens' Mansion. While I

was treating my injury, I gained access to the Governor and Conception vessels, as well as the Eight

Extraordinary Meridians with the help of Tobias’ True Energy. I've been putting a lot of effort into

cultivating lately, so my True Energy has grown.”

“Really?”

There was apparent disbelief on Gloom’s face.

James would not have had such a strong cultivation base even if he had gained access to the

Governor and Conception vessels, as well as the Eight Extraordinary Meridians. Nevertheless, James

did not tell, so he would not ask any further questions.

He made a welcoming gesture with his hand. “Go ahead.”

James turned around and left.

Gloom, however, shook his hands about while clenching his teeth and grimacing in pain. “That hurts so

bad.”

In a luxurious living room within Peace Mansion…

The King of Sol was wearing a typical shirt and sitting on the sofa. He had a newspaper in his hands

and was reading it intently.

When James walked over, he set down the newspaper he was holding and pointed to the sofa across

from him. “Sit.”

James sat down. As soon as he sat, a cigarette was tossed in his direction. He caught it, took a lighter

from the table, and lit it.

The King of Sol asked, “Are you visiting the Capital this time for a specific reason?”

“Actually, it's nothing major. I’m just here to ask about Mr. Gabriel. He sent Madelyn Gabriel to

Cansington, which caused me a lot of trouble,” James said casually as he smoked the cigarette.

“Oh, really?” The King looked surprised.

James gave him a glance and said, “Don’t tell me you didn’t know that. The intelligence network you

control as the King of Sol is quite frightening. I believe you wouldn't miss anything that occurs in Sol.”

“You’re flattering me.” The King of Sol gave a faint smile.

“What history does Mr. Gabriel have?” James said as his expression darkened, “I’m planning to kill him

with the Blade of Justice.”

The King of Sol's expression changed slightly upon hearing him. “That's quite a crazy plan you have

there,” he said soon after, smiling.

Gloom, who had come over to stand behind the King of Sol, was equally astounded. He never

expected James to have such a thought.

Kill Mr. Gabriel?

‘If it were possible to kill him, the King wouldn’t have waited until now.’

“That’s why I need detailed information about Mr. Gabriel,” James said, leaning back on the sofa with

his legs crossed.

When the King of Sol heard that, he became deeply absorbed in his thoughts.

Gloom leaned down by his ear and spoke a few words in a whisper.

The King's face changed from being astonished to perplexed and finally to a contented smile.

Soon after, he said while smiling, “Dragon King, you want to kill Mr. Gabriel. I support that

wholeheartedly, but I won't offer you any assistance. Whatever happens, you'll have to deal with it on

your own.”

James furrowed his brows and said, “What could possibly happen? Don't keep me guessing. Tell me

everything about Mr. Gabriel.”
