Chapter 1020

He would be defeated if the battle persisted.

However, Donovan had lost all fighting spirit. Seeing that James was charging toward him, his face

paled, and he staggered backward. “Save me, Grand Patriarch!”

His cry reverberated throughout Mount Littleroot as Donovan began calling for help.

Seeing this, James’ heart skipped a beat.

He knew that Donovan was begging for help, so he had to kill him as soon as possible. Thankfully, he

was disguised as someone else, or else he would incur the wrath of the Blithes after this was over.

Even if he killed Donovan, the Blithes would never know who the culprit was.

As these thoughts flashed across his mind, he swiftly charged at Donovan. Raising his hand, strong

True Energy gathered in his palm.

“Such audacity to act so insolently on Mount Littleroot… What do you take the Blithes for?”

Just as James’ fist was about to make contact with Donovan, a voice boomed and reverberated

throughout the mountains.novelbin

Then, powerful energy burst into the sky and pierced through the clouds. It eroded the cloud pattern

and drastically changed the landscape of the sky.

“What?”

Everyone was stunned.

“Eighth rank?”

The powerful aura sent shivers down everyone’s spine.

This was an energy that could only be exuded by an eighth-rank martial artist, which they did not

expect the Blithes to have. After all, even in history, only a handful of martial artists could reach such a

rank.

Just as James was about to deal the death blow, a terrifying pressure came crushing on him. As if

there was a huge rock on his chest, he had trouble breathing. However, he remained composed.

Not too far away, Thomas silently wore a mask.

He knew he had to act. If not, James, Maxine, and Thea would perish here.

However, just as he was about to step forward, the powerful energy dissipated.

Then, a voice came. “For that person’s sake, I’ll let you off the hook. Scram…”

James breathed a sigh of relief.

Glancing at Donovan, he smiled. “Till we meet again, patriarch of the Blithes. I hope you won’t

antagonize me in the future. Or else…”

After leaving this remark, James left. The moment he turned, he murmured, “For that person’s sake?

Who was he referring to?”

Then, he saw Maxine and Thea. Their gazes met. Without saying a single word, James simply left.

Meanwhile, Thea and Maxine looked at one another. Then, they hastily left too.

Thomas removed his mask and glanced at the mountain behind the Blithes’ villa. A grin crept up on his

face before he left as well.

Donovan breathed a sigh of relief.

At that moment, sweat beaded on his forehead, and his legs were shivering.

Flynn walked over to him and helped him up. “Are you alright, Father?”

“I’m fine.”

Donovan waved his hand slightly. Then, his face darkened. “Find out who that elderly man is. I’ll pay

him back dearly for what he did to me.”

“Understood.” Flynn nodded.

At the same time, at the mountain behind the Blithes’ villa…

There was a simple wooden house here.

With an apathetic look on his face, Thomas walked toward the wooden house and sat on a wooden

chair at the doorstep. “Quite impressive, Winston Blithe. That eighth-rank performance intimidated quite

a few."
