Chapter 1016

James, who was concealing himself in the crowd, knew that Thea would be exposed if he did not show

himself. If that happened, things would go out of control.

“Haha… How exciting.”

A peal of laughter came.

Everyone turned their heads and saw an elderly man chuckling.

Smoking a cigarette, the elderly man slowly emerged from the crowd and arrived at the middle of the

battlefield. Then, he lifted his head and shot Tobias a look of disdain. “Stop embarrassing yourself,

Tobias. You have yet to master the Thirteen Heavenly Swords. How would you stand a chance against

the Blithe Fist of Abomination?”

Maxine had told Thea of a fight Tobias had with a martial artist from the Blithe family.

Seeing that an elderly man had stepped forward, she descended from the air and returned her sword to

its sheath. “Twenty years ago, I had the honor of witnessing the power of the Blithe Fist of Abomination.

Since then, I have tried to find ways to counter it but to no avail.”

Thea could only try to impersonate Tobias as much as possible to prevent her identity from being

exposed.

Donovan had heard of this too.

After all, it was his father who fought against Tobias and defeated him twenty years ago.

His father holds the Thirteen Heavenly Sword in high regard and claimed that it was one of the most

powerful martial arts in the world. However, Tobias had yet to fully master it. Or else, the Blithe Fist of

Abomination would stand no chance against it.

Now, he was more powerful than his father was twenty years ago. He had reached the Ninth Fist of the

Blithe Fist of Abomination, so he was not afraid of Tobias at all.

Even if he could not defeat him, the Blithes still had other martial artists.

However, an old man appeared.

Flynn had told him that an old man resorted to violence at the foot of Mount Littleroot. He fixed his gaze

on James, watching him intently.

Sixty years ago, he had not been born yet, so he specially went to the closed-door meditation

sanctuary behind the mountain to ask his father about this. Despite showing his father James’

photograph, his father told him that he had never seen such a man before.

Clasping his hands, he asked, “And you are?”

James said, “You aren’t worthy of knowing my name. Let’s just call this quits, shall we? You’re

dismissed.”

“No way.”

Thea and Donovan said in unison.

Thea, who was disguised as Tobias, said coldly, “I have proclaimed to the world that an attack on

James would be an attack on the Cadens. After the Blithes captured James and demanded that I come

to apologize in person, I chose to make a compromise. If the Blithes are unwilling to accept my

apology, then so be it. I’m not afraid of him.”

Though Thea was scared out of her wits, she was tough and uncompromising.

Donovan disagreed too.

All of this was a performance to flaunt the strength of the Blithes to the world. He was trying to lay the

foundations for unifying the ancient martial world under his banner. If he compromised now, the Blithes

would be looked down upon.

He had to put on a tough act.

“Come at me, Tobias.” Donovan got into a fighting pose. “I’m not afraid of you.”

Thea, who was disguised as Tobias, brandished her sword.

“Donovan, allow me.”

James stepped forward and looked at Donovan. At the same time, he glanced at Thea and whispered,

“Take Maxine and leave.”

Hearing the old man’s voice, Thea froze. Immediately, she recollected herself.novelbin

It was James.

“Got it.”

Without any hesitation, she returned her sword to the sheath and walked toward Maxine, “Let’s go.”

“No one leaves!” Donovan roared and charged at Thea and Maxine.

In an instant, James appeared before Donovan and blocked his path.
