In the foyer of a luxurious villa on the mountaintop, Donovan was conversing with a few ancient martial
artists.
At that moment, a disciple of the Blithe family walked in and knelt, “Maxine Caden has arrived.”
Upon hearing this, the foyer fell silent.
Everyone fixed their gaze on Donovan.
Donovan invited them here to Mount Littleroot for a simple reason ─ To witness how the Blithes would
crush the Cadens and proclaim to the world that they are the number one family of Sol.
At long last, Maxine has arrived.
“Is the show about to begin?”
“Are the Cadens not afraid of the Blithe family’s strength?”
“Is Maxine here alone? Where’s Tobias?”
The crowd murmured.
Donovan asked smilingly, “Is Maxine alone?”

“Where’s Tobias?”
“He’s nowhere to be seen.”
Upon hearing this, Donovan’s smile froze. Then, his face darkened, and he walked out of the villa. The
others followed close behind.
Several hundred people were gathered outside. From afar, a woman walked toward them. She was in
the limelight.
Seeing the ancient martial artists on Mount Littleroot, Maxine froze.
Hades Johnston.
Zaiden Sullivan.
Jake Lee.
They were approximately 500 of them.
Recollecting herself, she walked toward a middle-aged man in the lead.
Though she had never seen Donovan before, she could tell from his position that he was the current
patriarch of the Blithe family.

She knelt on the ground.
“Where’s Tobias?” Wearing a grim expression, Donovan looked at Maxine who was kneeling.
Maxine said in a low voice, “Patriarch of the Blithe family, this has nothing to do with the Cadens at all. I
was the one at fault. I have been expelled from the Cadens and am no longer a member of the family.
My actions have humiliated the Blithes. And so, I came here to accept whatever punishment there is to
come. However, James has nothing to do with this. I implore you to release him.”
Maxine willingly shouldered all the blame. She did not wish for the Cadens and the Blithes to have a
falling out.
Now, the Cadens were besieged on all fronts. If they antagonized another family, they would not stand
a chance in the martial art conference a few months later.
Thus, she lied that she had been expelled from the family.
There was an elderly man among the crowd. It was James who was impersonating an old man.
Seeing this, he furrowed his eyebrows and muttered under his breath, “What the hell? Why isn’t Tobias
here? Why is she here alone?”
However, he did not act rashly. He was curious to see what the Blithes intended to do.
“You dare come alone?”
Donovan’s face darkened, and he kicked Maxine with great force. Maxine was sent flying a few meters,
but she immediately got up again and knelt.
“It’s all my fault. As long as it quells your anger, I don’t mind if you kill me. However, James is innocent.
He was framed. I only hope that you won’t be manipulated by these despicable people.”
“Does he seriously think that sending a woman to his death would solve this issue?”
Donovan’s face darkened. Then, he walked toward Maxine. Raising his hand, powerful energy
gathered in his palm.
Seeing this, James clenched his fists.
Just as he was about to intervene…
“Haha!”
A peal of laughter came.
