He knew Nichole was putting on a show for Sophie and the staff on purpose earlier. He had alreadywarned Nichole that there would be no further interactions between them, and his cooperation wasmerely to see Sophie’s reaction.

“James, we had sex. Are you that eager to cut ties with me?”

Nichole paled, her voice softening as she clutched James‘ hand. “James, Sophie doesn’t even like you!But I truly love you. Didn’t we have a great night together?”
“Enough!”
James shook off Nichole’s hand, his eyes filled with menace. “How dare you bring up that night?Nichole, if you don’t want to be ousted from Palm’s Jewels, I suggest you stop testing my patience.Otherwise, I’ll make sure Eastwood College expels you without a second thought!”
Nichole’s expression turned even uglier, and she didn’t dare to make another move. She knew Jameswould follow through on his threats, perhaps even tenfold.
James turned and left, leaving Nichole deflated and alone. Colt glanced at her and said, “Ms. Nichole,Mr. Burke’s decision not to expose your lies is already a form of mercy. Please recognize your place
and stop dreaming about becoming Mrs. Burke.”
Then, Colt also followed James out.
Nichole clenched her fists tightly.
‘James, you think it’s that easy to cut ties with me? I will not let you have your way! The position of Mrs.Burke can only be mine!‘
Back at Palm’s Jewels, Sophie pulled her hand away from Reece, saying, “He’s gone.”

Rumors even spread that she was a sugar baby in school and often engaged in questionableprofessions.
She knew these rumors were Nichole’s doing, but she couldn’t be bothered to deal with them.
The issues at S Corporation were enough of a headache already. She didn’t want to waste energy onpetty matters with worthless people.
Reece frowned, “Have they started bullying you?”
“Not yet, but I guess they will once you’re gone.”
The female staff had been cautious around her these past few days because Reece had been comingto the office to film, but once Reece was gone, things might change.
After a moment of silence, Sophie patted Reece’s shoulder seriously. “I’ll handle it. When troublecomes, I’ll face it head–on. I’ll be okay.”
