Chapter 58

Finished

Elisa had already packed her things and made up her mind to leave immediately after she signed the divorce papers. How could her husband be so cruel to her? At this point, she didn’t care, all she wanted was to see her mother and make sure that everything was fine.

She went out with her suitcases to see that Grandpa was still up, and dinner had been served. He had a surprised look on his face, but beckoned on her to join him.

When she did, he asked her why her suitcases were packed up.

“Is something wrong, Elisa?”

He asked, fearing for the worst. He knew that there was only so much she could take and at this point, she seemed determined. Either she had already divorced his grandson or he had plans to. He decided to tread with caution, really hoping that it wasn’t what he was thinking.

“I want to go back to school and finish my studies. Washington, not here.”

“You’re going back to studying? That’s good, you really should, after all, your studies are important,” Grandpa nodded, taking a deep breath. She didn’t say anything about a divorce, which meant she wasn’t going to divorce his grandson, right? Hopefully.

Elisa just nodded that he had approved but at this point, she really didn’t need it. She was telling him, not asking him.

“How about you stay at the fisher family house in Washington, you don’t have to deal with your

accommodations alone when you have your husband, when you have us.”

He was really hoping that it was still the case.

Elisabeth looked at her grandpa, feeling a bit reluctant.

“Grandpa, I bought a ticket for today to go back to school, so I can’t stay in the family house since I didn’t plan for it.”

“So where do you plan to stay?”

Grandfather asked, alarmed to the core. She had never been this expressionless and emotionless while she -spoke. It felt like all the sunshine had left her eyes, replaced with darkness and dark determination.

“I’ll stay at the Villa, so don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine.”

At that point, the sound of a wheelchair could be heard and moments later, Robert was in sight. He decided to have dinner too, which was a good thing. He soon joined them.

“But staying at the villa alone is not safe for you. Stay with us, back at the family house. If you want, I can come with you now to help you settle down.”

Elisa knew that he had signed the divorce papers because he couldn’t wait to do it all this while. Even though she felt free, she was still upset that he had no single regard for her. It broke her so much to see how much he hated her and all she needed at that point was a distraction, so school it is.

“It’s really okay, Grandpa. I can take care of myself and I’ll figure it out.” Contents belong to NovelDrama.Org

“We’ll join you later, so we completely understand if you have to go now. So please, stay. The driver will take you to school and back everyday so you don’t have to worry about being late. Listen to me, after all we are still married.”

He stressed on the last word, triggering something in her.

What did he just say? But she signed the papers. Didn’t he sign them too? What was this about? He had put her in a tight corner and now she didn’t know what to do. She knew she would be so mad if she found out he truly didn’t sign it. When she finally gave him what he wanted, he still chose to play with her feelings. She hated him but she reluctantly agreed but based on her own terms.

“Grandpa, I will come back to accompany you on weekends and holidays. Although my house is close to school, it takes an hour in the morning and in the afternoon. If there is traffic, it will take much longer, and I can save that time to study. I won’t stay at the dormitory anymore so don’t worry. Do you think that’s good?”

Upon hearing Elisabeth’s gentle voice, grandfather’s anger suddenly disappeared.

“Okay. “Grandfather nodded.

In fact, grandfather could also accept such an arrangement!
