“Oops!” Elisa was abruptly awakened by a faintly recognizable mocking laughter after an unknownperiod of time. “How come the beggar?” The person speaking was Olivia, Jorge Barson’sillegitimate daughter. After Elisa’s parents divorced, Jorge Barson married his mistress and publiclyacknowledged Olivia as his daughter. “Oh, it’s my sister. My bad, I thought it was some beggar.”Olivia circled around Elisa, who was lying on the ground, and suddenly covered her mouth, laughingwith a gloating expression. “Sister, I heard that you and your mother are in need of money? I stillhave fifty thousand dollars of pocket money left this month. Should I help you out?” As Olivia spoke, she slowly took out a checkbook from her handbag and sarcastically looked at Elisa. “No need foryour fake sympathy!” Elisa knew that Olivia was deliberately humiliating her and would never helpher. She didn’t want to waste time with this hypocritical woman, so she endured the pain in herhead, stood up and prepared to leave the office. “Elisa, I know why you came here today. Fivehundred thousand dollars, don’t you think your mother’s life is worth that much? Don’t make me sayit twice, all of Daddy’s money belongs to my mother and me. We won’t give you a penny. Yourmother deserves to die!” Upon hearing Olivia curse her own mother, Elisa could no longer restrainherself and immediately rushed back to give Olivia a hard slap. “You dare to hit me, you bitch!”Olivia also reached out to grab Elisa’s hair. The two of them started fighting. “Enough!” Suddenly, awoman’s voice came from nearby, stopping Elisa and Olivia’s brawl. But when Elisa saw thewoman’s face, she clenched her fist in anger. The person who arrived was Suelen, Jorge’s formermistress and the current Mrs. Barson. This shameless woman destroyed her mother’s marriagethrough despicable means. “Mom! You finally came! Look, this bitch Elisa grabbed me and evenslapped me!” Upon seeing Suelen’s arrival, Olivia immediately became arrogant. Suelen gentlycomforted her daughter and assured her that she teach Elisa a painful lesson. Suelen turned toElisa, her face filled with mockery. She took out a cigarette from her pocket, lit it, and took a puff, blowing smoke rings as she spoke, “Elisa, you’re just a naive, foolish girl. You’re not even a matchfor your own mother, let alone me. So don’t attempt to challenge me.” “You need money to saveyour mother’s life, but your father doesn’t want to give you any penny. He despises your mother tothe core, and he would be delighted if she died.” “I want to make a deal with you. If you’re willing, I

can give you five hundred thousand dollars.” Suelen was a malicious and scheming woman. Elisahad been wary of her, but when she heard her offer to give her five hundred thousand dollars,Elisa’s heart skipped a beat. If it meant saving her mother’s life, she was willing to make a dealeven it was the devil. Suelen noticed Elisa’s hesitation and smiled as she spoke, “The Barson familyhas a business alliance that was arranged by your grandfather many years ago. Recently, thefamaily found us and demanded that the alliance should be fulfilled. ” “Due to some reasons, yourfather cannot refuse their request. Therefore, the Barson family must have a daughter marry intotheir family.” “My daughter would never be a tool for alliance, and she certainly won’t marry intosuch unknown small family. But you’re different, as lowly as you are, you are also a daughter of theBarson family. If you return to the Barson family and marry in place of my daughter, it will fulfill thealliance.” “Trade your marriage for a sum of five hundred thousand dollars in order to save yourmother’s life. Henceforth, you will serve as a pawn in the Barson family’s alliance, and comply withmy instructions, never divorce.” “Do you accept this deal?”novelbin
