Chapter 75Emma did not believe her, however. “You‘re saying he‘s sending her abroad so she can‘t hurt meanymore? That‘s impossible.‘ She thought it was a joke. “He won‘t do anything for me. Arianna was about to protest, but Trevor shot her an icy look. “You‘regoing abroad whether you like it or not,” he said imperiously.Arianna stomped her foot. “Trevor!”“Mom‘s fine, isn‘t she? You take her home then,” Trevor told her, and he left the ward.Ariann started crying.“Now, calm down. We can handle this,” Alice assured her. She was a little scared of her son after whathappened today. She knew it was unreasonable of her to try and bully Emma for no reason, so she didnot protest at all. Alice did not expect her plan to backfire so horribly, she had to be hospitalized. Theyhad to come up with a betterplan.Trevor left the hospital. He wanted to go back to work, but in the end, he went to Cerys‘ residentialarea.Emma had just composed herself and was trying to get back to her script, but someone rang thedoorbell again. She thought Cerys forgot something and came back to take it, but to her surprise, it wasTrevor. She did not let him in and just stood at the porch while she asked calmly, “What do you want?”He said softly, “I‘m really sorry about what happened today.”
Emma sneered, “Well, you‘re a nice guy, Mr. Bateson. You keep apologizing for something someoneelse did.” Trevor felt a little hurt. “You only got into this because of me. Of course I have to apologize.”Emma froze. She did not expect him to be so genuine, but then she said, “In that case, why don‘t wenever see each other again? Then none of this would happen.” After this, she would reject any scriptthat was commissioned by his company. “You should leave if there‘s nothing else you want to say. Ineed to work,” she gave him the boot and closed the door.‘Trevor took a deep breath and held his anger back. She shuts the door on me now? How dare she?Simon and Steven would not stop at that, so Emma decided she would make the first move to shutthem down. She had Steven‘s number, so she called him.“Emma?” Steven was surprised that she would call him, but then he cursed, “Do you even care aboutme? I bet you would have stayed away from us forever if Simon hadn‘t found you.”Emma apologized coolly, “I‘m sorry, Dad. I just came back, so I have a lot of work to handle. I just gotsome free time.
