Chapter 200

Chapter 200novelbin

When he heard that, the man seemed impressed and said, "I see you are Miss Dawnson's student. I'msure you must be very capable." He looked at her from head to toe as he spoke and realized that theyoung screenwriter standing in front of him was a beauty. He couldn't help but stare at her, which bothdisgusted Trevor and Wilson.

"President Davis, we have some work-related matters to discuss. Please excuse us," Trevor uttered ashe looked grim.

President Davis understood the meaning behind his words and smiled before leaving. Before he left, hecouldn't help but take a glance at her face since his heart was fluttered by such a young and beautifulscreenwriter. Many screenwriters in this industry were youthful and beautiful, but it was rare to seesomeone with such a unique and unforgettable charm as Winter.

After the man left, Wilson glanced at Trevor and asked him coldly, "President Bateson, shouldn't youleave too?"

Even though President Davis wasn't a good man, Trevor was not much better than him. In fact, hecould be regarded as the worst among men. At least the other men hadn't hurt Emma, unlike Trevorwho had broken his daughter's heart to the point that she wanted a divorce.

Wilson and Trevor had been on the same boat earlier on, but Wilson immediately started chasing thelatter away. Trevor objected calmly and said, "Mr. Young, don't you think you're too old to be shieldingEmma?"

Emma was speechless upon hearing that. How dare Trevor speak to an elder like that? she thought.

"Age wouldn't be an issue since I'm sure President Bateson is familiar with my means." Wilsonlaughed. His hatred toward Steven and Simon was deep enough for him to want to protect Emma.

Meanwhile, the woman couldn't fathom why both men started bickering right after they started theirconversation, so she asked puzzledly, "Uncle Young, Trevor, why are both of you attending the galatogether?"

They were lost for words upon hearing Emma's question.

Finally, Trevor answered her gently, "We are promoting the new drama."

Hearing that, she nodded and answered, "In that case, I shall not disturb you both since you must bebusy."

When she raised her gaze, she saw Susanna walking toward her. "I can see Susanna coming over. Ishall take a leave," she said before turning around to leave. Wilson and Trevor then looked at eachother and walked away together.

As Emma went up to Susanna, she complained to her about how Wilson and Trevor were beingdisagreeable with each other. Hearing that, Susanna gloated and said, "Mr. Wilson's presence hashindered Trevor's endeavor to court you."

In fact, not only Wilson but anyone fond of Emma wouldn't be pleased with Trevor after they found outabout his mistreatment toward her back then. They might not even approve of them getting back

together.

As Susanna glanced at Crystal and Zola, she couldn't help but whisper, "Have you noticed that Zolalooks like a servant girl while standing beside Crystal?"

Susana's words almost made Emma laugh out loud. It was undeniable that Susanna's comparison wasapt. Although Crystal had a problematic personality, she was born with a golden spoon and had thedisposition of a lady from a wealthy family. On the other hand, Zola was from an ordinary family andonly started buying branded goods after she earned some money from writing novels.

Her outfit and bags were from luxury brands, but she couldn't seem to carry the whole look, making herlook like a nouveau riche. The dress she wore tonight was of a well-known luxury brand, but she didn'tlook good in it at all. Her tacky look was apparent when she stood next to Crystal, who was as proud asa peacock. As such, Susanna couldn't be blamed for describing her as a servant girl.

Meanwhile, two other beautifully dressed actresses were chatting away with Crystal and Zola. Theylooked in Emma's direction from time to time as they chatted.

Susanna scoffed upon noticing that. "I'm sure that they are up to no good."

"Why is that so?" Emma asked confusedly as she glanced over in Crystal and Zola's direction.

"The other two women are bimbos within the industry who are known for stirring the pot. They havezero acting skills, but they are good at seducing men. No good can come from them getting together."

As Emma looked toward them, one of the women seemed familiar, but her face seemed different fromwhen she last saw her. Although Emma was a nobody in the industry when she was under Eleanor,

she knew some of the actresses since she had heard Susanna complaining about them before.

"Isn't the one in the blue dress that actress that you mentioned before? Why does she look differentnow?" Emma couldn't recall her name.

"She must have undergone plastic surgery," Susanna replied contemptuously.

"She was previously praised for her resemblance to one of the actresses, so she underwent multipleprocedures just to look like her. What good is it bringing her now that she looks almost like thatactress? She's still clueless."

Hearing that, Emma agreed that the actress' actions were beyond belief. "The most important thing fora person is the character and soul, not the appearance. Even if she looks exactly like someone else, she's still not the person."

"Exactly!" Susanna agreed.

Just as their conversation ended, the actress in the blue dress and her companions walked towardEmma and Susanna.

Seeing that, Susanna got excited and said, "Here they come. They are here to embarrass themselves."

Emma couldn't help but giggle upon hearing Susanna's words as her best friend seemed to lookforward to starting an argument.

"Remember to be calm and don't laugh. It's best if you can make yourself look pitiful." Susanna nudgedEmma's arm and reminded her.

"I got it. It's just like when I'm writing a script where the characters hold it in at first so that the opponentwould think that they're an easy target. It would be more satisfying when we give them a big blow in theend, am I right?"

"Sure enough, you know me the best. You know what I'm hinting at," said Susanna while giving her athumbs-up in secret.

Shortly after, both actresses were standing in front of Emma and Susanna.

"Hi, Susanna," the actress in a blue dress greeted her with a smile.

"Hi," Susanna replied politely.

The actress was rather surprised by Susanna's reply since the latter was usually known to be cold anddistant within the entertainment industry. She was never close to any female celebrities and wasflagged as a lone ranger.

Susanna had been a maverick throughout all those years she was in the industry and would solve herissues by herself, giving her a unique reputation. Once, a competitor tried to give her bad press abouther poor attitude, attributing it to the reason why she had been friendless within the industry.

Because of that, Susanna openly replied in response to the news on Twitter, stating, 'Having one goodfriend is enough, and I already have it. I don't need more friends, especially those who would stab mein the back.'
