"Don't call?" Vera put away the phone. "What about Beanie? Maddox, he..."

Vera walked back to her room with her phone in hand. After a few steps, she heard Minerva's voiceechoing behind her.

Maddox drove his car out and Beanie was in the passenger seat. His voice was soft.
"Sir, where are you taking me?"
Maddox's hand, which was holding the steering wheel, trembled. He glanced sideways at thepassenger seat. His voice was gentle and soft.
"Didn't I tell you? Don't call me, sir. You should call me Daddy."
Beanie blinked his eyes and looked at him innocently.
"Huh? Why don't you try calling me Daddy?" After saying that, Maddox felt his heartbeat increaserapidly. However, after holding his breath for a long time, he didn't hear a soft "daddy". Instead,Beanie just kept silent and quiet.
Maddox could not help but glance at him.

"Mommy didn't say that you're my daddy. I won't simply call you that."

Beanie snorted, "Mommy doesn't need me to speak up for her. She has always been the best."
"Of course, I know that your mommy is the best," Maddox said helplessly, "But I'm not a bad personeither. It was my fault for not taking care of you for the past five years. So... Now that I've regrettedit, I want to personally take care of you and make up for it. Will you let me do that?"
