Sam witnessed the scene in front of him and mentioned calmly, "You're mistaken."

Then, he wrapped his arms around Vera and pulled her into his embrace. He commented, "I'll sendyou back to your room."

Vera was taken aback, and she was dragged away before she could come to her senses.

"Just now... I saw Young Master Yardley..."

"You're drunk." Sam stared at her coldly. "You didn't see anything."

What was going on? Young Master Yardley was disabled, wasn't he? How... could he stand up?

"Yes," Sam stared at her seriously. "You have to go to sleep now. Everything will be fine once youget up tomorrow."

"Oh." Vera nodded obediently, then turned and walked to her bed. She directly laid down on the bedand she soon fell asleep.

Sam was lost for words.

Vera took slow, steady breaths. After confirming that she was really asleep, Sam finally breathed asigh of relief. He turned around and went out of the room, closing the door.

He was still tensed up as he closed the door.

When he returned to the living room, Maddox had already sat back on the wheelchair, holdingKimberly who kept struggling in his arms, staring at him with a cold face.

"Did she see it?"

Maddox's voice was cold and ruthless.

Sam nodded but shook his head again; a cold sweat broke out on his back.

"She was very drunk. I'm sure she will forget about it when she wakes up tomorrow."

Maddox did not say a word. The ambiance of the house was unpleasant. Sam hesitated, and finallypleaded for her. "She is a good buddy of Miss Shell. If wey did something to her, Miss Shell... wouldnot agree to it, would she?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Maddox shot him a death stare. He did not dare to look up atMaddox's eyes and he could barely lower his eyes, shrinking his shoulders.

Sam was sweating and his voice was trembling. "No, no! I'm just telling the truth!"

"Oh, telling the truth." Maddox sneered. "She drank with Kimberly until she got extremely drunk. Ican do something to Vera because of this, but..."

"It's going to be an exception this time. You're staying here to deal with the rest of the things. Youshould know how serious the matter is."

Sam was shocked and he suddenly raised his head. "So we're not going to pursue this matteranymore?"

"It doesn't mean that you can slack off on it."

"Yes!" Sam nodded immediately and commented in a louder tone, "I will stay here and clean up thisplace, and I'll ask her clearly about it when she wakes up. Don't worry, I know what to do."

After getting the reply, Maddox had no reason to stay either. Besides, the woman in his arms wasvery restless. She seemed to feel uncomfortable and had been fidgeting in Maddox's arms. Thescent of alcohol and barbecue lingered around him.

If it wasn't for the fact that he couldn't bear to leave her alone, he would have walked away a longtime ago.

"Stupid woman, you're really disobedient." Maddox lowered his head and initiated a bite at her rosylips.

"Uh..." Kimberly, who was drunk, moaned and subconsciously reached out to push him away.Before she could touch his face, Maddox grabbed her wrist and pulled it away. "Sam, I'll leave first.You stay."

"Ok, Young Master Yardley."

Maddox left with Kimberly, and the house finally became quiet and warm after they left. Sam wassweating profusely. Only he and Abigail knew about this matter, not even Kimberly.

What's more, when Kimberly almost found out about it, Maddox's words about killing her terrifiedSam a lot.

What was Maddox's attitude towards Kimberly? In his opinion, Maddox was in love with her, yet hecould easily say that he would kill her by himself.

What about Vera?

Sam was so shocked that he broke out in a cold sweat. Fortunately, Young Master Yardley wiselyallowed him to deal with this matter and let go of Vera.
