Lenny scoffed and said, "What? You're planning on taking that man for yourself?"
Brock did not hesitate to nod.
Lenny could not stop himself from sneering, "I can't believe you actually said that. No matter how youlook at it, either Lazlo or I should be the one to take him. We found those people, and we were theones who suggested working together!"
"The two of you just happen to be with us. Other than that, you haven't contributed anything. I reallydon't know where you got the guts to say that you want that man for yourself!"
The more Lenny spoke, the angrier he got. He felt Brock was being absurd and
shameless.
Anyone with a shred of integrity would not have jumped up at that moment to say that the additionalperson should be theirs.
After all, no matter how you look at it, the two of them should not get the additional person at all. Lennyand Lazlo were the ones who started everything. Even though Lenny's words were a bit harsh, theywere incredibly logical. However, Brock did not care about that at all.
He scoffed as he narrowed his eyes and said, "So what if you noticed them first? You only came to usfor help because you couldn't handle it yourselves. If you could, why would you need us? Lenny was incredibly frustrated when he heard that.
What kind of logic was that?
Sure enough, Brock was absolutely shameless as he could make out all sorts of
excuses.
Lenny's face reddened from the anger. He wanted nothing more than to rush over and slap Brock in theface, but he held back in the end.
That was because he knew very well that Brock would not change his mind even if he beat Brock up. Itwas just that Lenny could not stand it. Brock was really crossing the line to make up such an absurdexcuse.
Kent merely stood by the side, pretending he did not hear anything as he allowed Brock to do whateverhe wanted.
Brock scoffed and continued, "What? Am I wrong? You two need me, but I don't need both of you! Ofcourse, we should be benefiting more from this. If we knew that you were so insincere with asking usfor help, we would never have worked with you. We're just asking for one person, but you're alreadylooking at us like this! It's as if we did some unforgivable crime!"
Lenny was stunned, not knowing what to say. He had seen stubborn folk before, but never anyone thatstubborn. Lenny was incredibly frustrated.
He said with a look of exasperation, "Brock, just listen to what you're saying! You're trying to find anexcuse for robbing us? You speak as if we've wronged you so badly! Fine then, let's forget aboutworking together! You can get lost right now! The two of us can't deal with nine people, but we candefinitely deal with five!"
There were only five warriors left there. The two of them would not have that hard of a time dealing withthe situation.
Brock and Kent were no longer necessary. Lenny had kept it quiet the whole time, but he could nolonger hold back when Brock crossed the line.
