Chapter 3197

He panted roughly, so angry that tears were about to fall, “You were just pretending the whole time? You’re not an alchemist? It was just an act? You told me you would give me a chance to kill you, butyou were just setting a trap!”novelbin

Reality was cruel. Even at the final moment, Trevor did not want to believe it. Yet, with everything thathad happened, he was forced to.

From that exchange earlier, Trevor could clearly feel how great the gap between Jack and himself was.

Jack’s expression had been so relaxed. It had not taken much effort to launch that attack at all, but ithad shattered Trevor’s technique which Trevor was so proud of.

The technique he used seemed as weak as paper in front of Jack. Even if it was shocking, it was stillthe truth.

After Jack heard that, he smiled and said, “Do you think that I said I would give you a chance to kill mebecause I really want to die? That I wanted you to kill me? You always felt that I was an idiot and that Iwas crazy. In my eyes, you were the crazy one…”

“Who would be so free to give their lives to their opponents? If I didn’t have the confidence, why would Ihave participated in the slaughter gambit? Do you think I didn’t know how dangerous the slaughtergambit is?”

”Am I not supposed to know the gulf between alchemists and warriors? Since I know, why did I do all ofthis? It’s such a simple question, but you didn’t bother to think about it. Who do you have to blame butyourself for your current predicament?”

Trevor was so agitated that he could not breathe properly.

He started to cough violently, like someone who was about to die after suffering from a terminaldisease. His eyes were completely reddened. He had been so agitated by those words that he couldnot figure out anything to say.

Even though he hated Jack to the core, he had to admit that Jack was right. Unless there wassomething wrong with a person’s mind, no one would want to die to their opponents.

Jack had clearly known what would await him by offending so many people, but he did not care. UnlessJack actually had the skills to back it up, there was no way he would have done that.

In the waiting area, Trevor was surprised by all of Jack’s actions. He could not understand it.

Did Jack not know what would happen if Jack offended Chris?

Jack did not seem like an idiot, so he definitely knew what would happen. Since he knew, why did hedo all that?

Did he have any other reasons?

Was he so arrogant that everyone else was just beneath him?

Trevor even thought that the victory Jack had gotten before had clouded Jack’s judgment, stoppingJack from seeing how much weaker he was than everyone else.

Thinking about it, those thoughts were all hilarious. The actual reason should have been easy to guess, but Trevor had allowed all his preconceived notions to cloud his mind.

He felt like Jack was just lower than him, that Jack was a weak alchemist!

“I can’t believe things ended up like this. You said you would give me a chance to kill you, and Ibelieved it like an idiot!”

Saying that Trevor could not help but smile bitterly. His coughing intensified as even more blood flowedfrom his mouth, staining his clothes.

Jack raised an eyebrow, “You thought that someone from Hestia Continent would definitely not be ableto stand up to someone from White Marsh Continent. You thought that I was definitely an alchemistbecause others said so! It’s all because of your ignorance, and you’re paying the price now.”

Trevor’s lips twitched, unable to say anything.

Jack smiled coldly and said, “You told me more than once that I would pay the price. You said I wouldbe begging for mercy. I’ve always believed in dishing out what is given. You’ll be facing exactly whatyou said I would!”

The moment Jack said that, Trevor’s body suddenly stiffened.

He widened his eyes as they filled up with fear. He struggled to get up to run, but all he could do wasstruggle on the ground like a worm since he had lost all his limbs. He could not escape at all.
